It's nice to say that I have been getting addicted to watching anime more than any other solo or seasonal movie recently. I guess my experience with the first anime was encouraging, which gave me the interest to keep watching more.

Watching Black Clover was so much fun, I never knew when I finished watching about 170+ episodes of it, though there are some others that are even longer and more interesting, but my timing is not giving me the chance to even think of watching it at all. Maybe someday when I am free from worries, not sure yet if such days will come for now.

I seek recommendations on which to watch next, I heard about Naruto for a long time now. But I just can't watch it. Then I was recommended Mashle. It was just a perfect one that suited my timing for now and my not-so-busy schedules.

Mashle is a 2023 movie with two seasons, the first season has 13 episodes and the second season has 12 episodes too. It has a playtime of around 25-30 minutes.

The Plot

Mash is about a guy born without magic in a society where magic is dominant. Everyone has magic and tries to make good use of it. Mash Burnedead just wanted a peaceful life with his guardian who he happened to look up to as his adoptive father. Instead of practicing his magical skill Mash is somewhere in the forest building up his muscles.

Mash was discovered without magic and was forced to be killed. He never wanted any disturbance but was forced to come to action after his life was threatened. He unleashed his secret power and strength. And from there got his eyes on becoming a divine visionary. This is a title that is only bestowed to the extraordinary and outstanding student from the magic academy.

Mash on a mission to show the world that muscles beat magic has been facing some trials and challenges due to his special abilities. Only if they knew his extraordinary strength then no one would have dared him. His strength and calmness despite chaos made everyone around him love him so much.

Casts

Mash Burnedead

This is the main character of the series. I was a little bored with his acts from the beginning because I never knew what he was up to. Then later I get to realize that there is something even more interesting within him. I love his nonchalant attitude and also his kindness and love for others. Despite his strength, he still has a good heart towards everyone that comes his way, even his enemies.

Rayne and Finn Ames

These two finally became so submissive to Mash, Fin happened to be Mash's first roommate but lacked the courage to use his magical power; he has always been bullied but Mash came to his rescue.

Dot Barrett

There is always this noisy and lousy one in every anime I watch, just like the bull guy in black clover. Dot is always the forward type and has always had his weak point of falling in love with ladies. He tried to use it as his strength. He also has some hidden magical powers that were inherited from his family background.

Lance Crown

Lance is a cool but proud guy. His pride and love for his younger sister have always made him go beyond limits even if it means doing the wrong thing, they are always right to him. He finally became submissive to Mash after his first encounter.

Lemon.

The woman of love, she played her role perfectly, a secret admirer of Mash and a crush on Dot. The love triangle made it more interesting.

Conclusion and Ratings

Mashle is an amazing watch though the early part might seem boring but when you get familiar with the characters and then follow up with the storyline, you will surely have a nice time watching. If I were to rate the anime on a scale of 10, I would rate it an 8/10.

That’s an awesome review! Although I’m yet to see “Mashle”, your brief analysis has left me interested. It is interesting that in a magical world the strongest person is non-magical – and that’s who the main character is! But does it blend character development and action well enough? ...

Sure. The blend is also cool. 😎. You will enjoy it.

Anime movies are pretty cool and I think this would be funny too. The part where you said Mash was in the woods building his muscles instead of practising his magic got me laughing 😂
