Pinocchio
I have been a lover of animation for some time now, and I can say it's not all about the colorful screen alone. There is surely a lot more to it when given attention. I have watched comedy-related ones like Ratatouille and dramas like Frozen and Entangled. They are really amazing to watch and have interesting storylines.
A friend of mine will actually think I am childish for watching animations, and they are meant for kids. Hehe. Oh no. That is just a wrong mentality, even though there are some cartoons that have nice storylines, just that they are acted in a comical way. It all depends on your interest in it.
One of the evergreen animations I have watched and can still rewatch over time remains “Coco”. That's really an interesting one. Great storyline, morals, fun, nice music, and a lot more.
After watching Coco, I have been on the lookout for related animations. I watched several others, like The Good Dinosaur, The Sea Beast, Spellbound, and a lot more.
I even got to watch Mufasa recently. And I was like, this movie has taken me back to old times when I watched The Lion King.
So my search led me to watch the movie titled “Pinocchio”. Oooh. Hearing the title alone was a nice thing that made me even eager to watch it. I read a storybook about Pinocchio when we were kids. And I know Pinocchio as a liar with a long nose. But what happened in the story has escaped my mind.
The Plot
Pinocchio is a 2022 release. I guess there are different versions of the story, but the one I am about to review was from Guillermo Del Toro. It has its genres with fun, family, fantasy, drama, and suspense. Its duration lasted for about 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Pinocchio was the story of a man who lost his only child. He was so pained to have his only male child leave him to the afterlife. Life got so boring for him, he felt the best he could do was to have a puppet that would remind him of his lost son.
There was a seed his son planted that grew into a big tree. He buried the boy there and cut down the tree to make a puppet of him. Out of sadness, he took the puppet home just as a reminder.
When the man went to sleep then the puppet was brought to life with a fairy alongside to serve as a guardian to it. But it seems the case turned out the other way. The puppet was named Pinocchio.
Happiness came back onto the old man’s face. He took Pinocchio as his son, brought him back again, and then asked to be enrolled in school. Pinocchio, on the other hand, faced a lot of challenges and mockery. So he decided to disobey his father. He wanted a way to make money.
Pinocchio came across a puppet show, he was willing to be among his crew, not knowing the puppet show was rather ready to sell it off to make more money. Pinocchio fell into the wrong hands and had to face different difficulties. He remembered that his father had always told him that for every lie he makes, his nose gets longer. And that became a way he was able to rescue himself.
In conclusion, if I were to rank the movie on a scale of 10, then I would give it a 9/10. I enjoyed every scene, and the characters were amazing.

Lol funny one, I think I've seen this movie but I'm pretty sure I stopped half way. I don't even remember why I stopped but it does seem interesting now with the long nose thing 😅
