Introduction & Movie Plot

This movie was released in 2021 and it is a crime thriller movie. However, it is a remake of a Danish movie of 2018. The stars of the movie are Jack Gyllenhaal and Christina Vidal. You can watch this movie on Netflix. Now let's start the story of the movie in which we are shown a police officer who is suspended due to some mistake, although the suspension here is only for some time. At present, till the time he is suspended, he is working in an emergency call center. He has a guilt in his mind which troubles him a lot. This is an emergency call center. The name of this police officer is Joe. A case is going on against Joe and until the final verdict of the case comes, he will have to work like this and Joe has to get rid of the case as soon as possible. Joe also has a wife who has left him when he is suspended from the police. He also has a small daughter but that child lives with his wife. His wife does not even allow Joe to meet his daughter. For some days Joe was facing a lot of problems in his life because so many changes had taken place in his life.

For a long time, Joe has been getting calls from a girl who is none other than a news reporter who wants to know his story. But Joe does not tell her anything because he does not want the world to know about his mistake. We are shown the scene of this emergency call center where Joe calls his wife from his mobile but his wife does not pick up the call. Joe wanted to talk to his daughter but could not talk to her.

Joe then gets a call from a girl named Emily. The way Emily is talking is very strange. She is talking as if Joe is her son. At first Joe does not understand what she is saying but then he ignores it because he has received such calls many times before and he has become accustomed to such calls.

He is about to disconnect the call when suddenly he hears a man's voice during this call who asks the family to disconnect the call. He felt from the man's voice that the family has been kidnapped and Joe thinks something similar. When the call is not disconnected, Joe asks Emily if she has been kidnapped, then Imli replies yes. After this, Joe tells the family to answer whatever question I ask you in yes or no and asks many questions one after the other, which reveals that Emily has not been kidnapped by anyone close to her.

Now Joe takes the responsibility of saving Imli and first of all he traces the family's number. It is known from her location that she is traveling and they are going somewhere out of this city. There he puts Emily's call on hold and calls the police patrolling team. And all the information about Imli is given to the police. Then suddenly Joe's wife's call comes on his mobile and Joe silences the call because his job was to save Emily and it was an emergency call so he had to ignore his wife's call. Now when Joe talks to the family further, the family comes to know that the call is not from his son but from someone else. Now Joe tells Emily that next time whenever you call 911, tell them that I want to talk to Joe because if you get connected to someone else then you will have to tell that to the officer which will be a waste of time. Now Emily disconnects the phone. After the call, Joe gets very upset and he worries a lot about Emily. Paisa was suspended and as per his work profile, his work was over here because he had informed the police about this, but he was still tracing Emily's location again and again.

After some time, the police find a white van but it is not the van in which Emily was being taken. If they had to find Emily's van, it was necessary to have a number because how would they identify a van without a number because there are many white vans. Joe had got Ma's number and he gets more details from there. After that, when he calls the family home, a little girl picks him up and she tells him that Mummy is not at home and she has gone with Papa. The girl remembers her Papa's number and gives that number to Joe. After this, Joe had found a lot of things and now he starts further action there.
Joe talks to the policeman and tells him about all the information he has gathered but the police refuses to take any further action because Joe is currently suspended and cannot listen to him and until the police get hold of solid evidence, they cannot do anything.

Now to see what happened after this and how he took further action despite being suspended, you will have to watch the entire movie because I cannot tell the story further. If I tell you further, then many of your suspensions will end and you may not enjoy watching the movie in real life.

Actually, the movie here is only one and a half hours long and you will not even know when the movie started and when it ended. I feel that the movie should have been made a little longer because crime thriller movies give real fun when the investigation starts in them and if you see, the real thrill comes only when the investigation in the movie is very deep. Here I did not feel right because the movie ended very quickly.
