Movie Review: Finding Me (A Classic Love Story)

Movie Plot

Finding me is the story of a woman, Atinuke, the daughter of a business mogul and the chief executive officer of a steel company.
Unfortunately, Atinuke finds herself in a loveless marriage with Kola, her husband.

After several years of a childless marriage, the couple decided on adopting a baby and things went fine until Kola got tired of the marriage. Kola started to have an affair with his wife’s worker at the office and complains so much about how his wife dresses.

After insulting Atinuke, the other things he does is collect some money from her and pretends to love her whenever he needs some money. This marriage became tiring and leaves Atinuke in tears almost all the time.

Eventually, Atinuke discovered that Kola has been the one suffering from a low sperm count and is the reason why they haven’t had a kid since. The highest of it all is how he kept such secret from her.

At the end, Atinuke found love again and gave birth to her baby.

How does this movie influence me?

Aside from the fact that this is being a movie, things like this happen in the real world and that’s why the dating or marriage pool is messed up that you can’t even know if someone loves you or not.

There are so many men like Kola who only aim at collecting money from their wives and not loving a bit of them. Also, there are so many women who pretend to love men but all they do is collect their money. This is becoming more rampant in the society and it is affecting almost everyone in one way or the other.

Any scene I love most?

While watching the movie, there is a part of it where Atinuke’s worker, her husband’s concubine was making a presentation at work when Kola’s call came in. There, Atinuke found out that Kola was cheating on her with his worker.

I was about to see what drama will happen. It brought some thoughts into my head. If I was the one, I was going to just fire her immediately or what kind of explanation does she want to give to me? It’s going to be a sack letter!!!

What I love about the movie?

This movie clearly shows us what is happening in the society and reminding us that love is really hard to find. These days, it is looking like people only love you when they want something from you and when they get what they want, they begin to act weird. That’s what it is looking like.

That’s how people define love these days and it’s really sad but the world is normalizing it already. What do we do? Just do your best and leave the rest!

Will I recommend this movie? Yes, I will. The majority of us might have experienced a heartbreak. What caused it? Was your partner no more getting what they used to get from you or what exactly happened?

This movie sheds more light into what’s happening in relationships or marriages. As adults, you can give it a watch and after watching, it may leave a question behind which asks “how else do we find love?”.
