I firmly believe that during times of, having something to hold on to is crucial to not sink, of course, something healthy that fills us with the right satisfaction and also that can serve as an escape, not something that leads us to fall into other circumstances, as has already happened with people who suffer from syndrome such as Diogenes or Noah's syndrome, the latter is related to the former, but people who suffer from it instead of accumulating things, accumulate animals, and one of the causes is, for example, the loss of loved ones or strong crises that led them to take refuge in animals, but they ended up becoming accumulators.

Now, what does this have to do with such a famous and award-winning movie as The Pianist? this great movie that I am sure you have seen, gives us a tour of terrible moments, that a pianist lived since Germany invaded Poland, everything went from bad to worse, first the stars in the clothes, they could not enter or be in many places, they could not walk on the sidewalks, they could not have more than a certain amount of money, from their home they were moved to the ghetto where they suffered overcrowding, hunger, abuse and then this great pianist named Wladyslaw Szpilman was separated from his family when they were about to be sent to a concentration camp, partly thanks to this he managed to save his life, but his mental health in the midst of all this terrible panorama, depended entirely on him.

I am not a professional musician, but I have been a chorister, music has been part of my life since childhood, having had contact and dealings with professional musicians and singers, I know that musicians are extremely sensitive people, so music for them more than a hobby, career or passion is a way of life.

In the same way, remembering the film, when Szpilman, as he was regularly called, made the decision to leave the ghetto, since forced labor was not his thing and this would end up killing him, he was hidden by various people, he goes through a number of other situations and he finds refuge in music, the scenes in which we can see him imagining himself playing the piano, because he could not really do it, to avoid being discovered reach the soul, he is mentally transported to another place, he imagined himself playing pieces, which made him forget his sad and desperate situation, so undoubtedly music played an important role for the protagonist to survive and stay sane as far as possible, without forgetting that touching scene in which he is discovered by the German officer and he asks him to prove he is a pianist and allows him to play the grand piano, from the house where they temporarily had a command center.

On the other hand, about the values in this film we can talk about several and not only because they are perhaps present, it is because the lack of them led to that terrible conflict, gratitude, altruism, courage, trust, kindness, love, peace, solidarity, equity, empathy, tolerance, equality, freedom, respect.

This moving film always left me with one thought in mind, the importance of making the right decision in time, for if they had continued with the determination to leave Warsaw, when they were in time it is very likely that all or most of the family members would have saved their lives, but when they heard the news of the declaration of war by England and France to the Germans, they believed that soon things would be back to normal and the result was that the only survivor of the family was Wladyslaw, and barely, thanks to his determination and the help he received.

In summary, this film shows us that it is important to respect and tolerate all beings that inhabit this planet regardless of creed, color, ideology, nationality, skin color and so many more things, look at what hatred and contempt for a group of people considered different caused, in the search for the perfect race, thus ends my participation in the Cine Forum #4, remember that you are free to share with me your comments and I cannot leave without first inviting my friends @popurri, @brujita18 and @dayadam to participate in this initiative.
