King the Land/ Review and opinion
I didn't understand K-drama fans until I started watching them, and now I really enjoy them because, in addition to good plots, most of them have humor and life lessons, as we can see ourselves reflected in some of the characters or in their way of facing life. I recently watched a South Korean miniseries called
King The Land
This series tells the story of two people from different social classes who end up together because they share spaces and are forced to work together. In the case of the female lead, she manages to make her dream come true by working in one of the best hotels in South Korea, and in the case of the male co-star, the youngest son of the hotel owner, who is actually part of a consortium that includes a hotel chain, airlines, and stores.
Cheon Sa-rang, even though she did not have the required academic qualifications, managed to get a job at the hotel and rise through the ranks thanks to her attitude and her preparation in languages, etiquette, and much more.
On the other hand, Gu Won prefers to stay away from his father and his half-sister, who is always hostile towards him and manages to get his father to constantly reprimand him for some reason. However, after seven years in London, he returns and begins to take his place in the company, with his office in the hotel, where he meets Cheon Sa-rang, who is known for her smile, but they immediately clash because the young heir feels uncomfortable with smiles.
This series highlights several points. First, even if you don't have a college degree, if you prepare well in other areas, you can stand out and even excel. Keep in mind that academic training should not be underestimated, but attitude and extra preparation definitely help a lot. Second, there will always be those who want to overshadow you. Focus on doing your job well and not getting into workplace disputes. Your good work will speak for itself. Third, be true to yourself.
There are also other things, such as how meeting the right person can bring out the best in you. Since Gu Won notices Sa-rang, he manages to change radically thanks to their relationship. We also see how Won's family is healing, even his poisonous sister, who was a victim of herself. We also see a mysterious past that is becoming clearer, friendship, workplace abuse, and a lot of humor in the midst of it all.
Something I loved about this series is the costumes, especially Won's three-piece suits, which include pants, a vest, and a jacket. They look spectacular on him. I don't know if they really had suits tailor-made for this series, but the actor Lee Jun-ho, who plays the character, has the bearing to look like a well-educated gentleman, the way he stands, sits, and more.
In this and other Korean series, it is noticeable how they approach the development of romantic relationships. Nothing is rushed or driven by simple desire, but things happen little by little. The characters get to know each other and are based more on romance, courtship, mutual support, and getting to know each other, among other things.
In short, The King Land is a series that not only gives us a glimpse into the world of hospitality, but also presents character development, plot, and humor that is worth the time you spend watching it, so I highly recommend it. I give it an 8 out of 10.
No entendía a los amantes de los K-dramas hasta que comencé a verlos y la verdad ahora los disfruto porque además de buena trama en la mayoría hay humor y lecciones de vida, pues nos podemos ver reflejados en alguno de sus personajes o en su manera de afrontar la vida hace poco vi una miniserie surcoreana cuyo título es
King the Land
Esta serie nos narra la historia de dos personas de estratos diferentes, pero que terminan unidos gracias a que comparten espacios y se ven obligados a trabajar juntos, en el caso de la protagonista logro hacer su sueño realidad al trabajar en uno de los mejores hoteles de Corea del Sur y en el caso del coprotagonista masculino, este el hijo menor del dueño del hotel, en realidad de un consorcio que incluye una cadena hotelera, aerolíneas y tiendas.
Cheon Sa-rang, aun cuando no tenía el estándar académico requerido, logró conseguir un trabajo en el hotel e ir ascendiendo gracias a su actitud y a que se preparó en idiomas, etiqueta y mucho más.
Por otra parte, Gu Won, prefiere mantenerse alejado de su padre y de su media hermana, la cual es siempre hostil con él y logra que su padre continuamente le llame la atención por algún motivo, pero luego de siete años en Londres regresa y comienza a tomar su lugar en la compañía, teniendo su oficina en el hotel, allí se cruza con Cheon Sa-rang, quien se caracteriza por su sonrisa, pero de inmediato chocan porque el joven heredero se siente incómodo con las sonrisas.
Esta serie destaca varios puntos primero aunque no tengas un título universitario si te preparas bien en otras áreas puedes destacar y hasta sobresalir, ojo sin menospreciar la formación académica, pero definitivamente la actitud la preparación extra siempre ayuda mucho, segundo, siempre existirá quienes deseen opacarte, ocúpate de hacer bien tu trabajo y de no caer en disputas laborales, tu trabajo bien hecho hablará por ti, tercero sé fiel a ti mismo.
También hay otras cosas como por ejemplo el como conocer a la persona indicada puede sacar lo mejor de ti, ya que desde que Gu Won se fija en Sa-rang, logra cambiar radicalmente gracias a su relación, también vemos como la familia de Won, va sanando incluso su venenosa hermana, la cual era víctima de sí misma, también vemos un pasado misterioso que se va aclarando, amistad, abuso laboral y mucho humor en medio de todo esto.
Algo que me encanto de esta serie es el vestuario, en especial los trajes de Won los cuales son de tres piezas es decir pantalón, chaleco y saco, le quedan espectaculares no sé si realmente para esta serie le mandaron a elaborar trajes a la medida, pero el actor Lee Jun-ho, quien interpreta al personaje tiene el porte para lucir como todo un caballero bien educado, su forma depararse, sentarse y más.
De esta y otras series coreanas es notorio como plantean el desarrollo de las relaciones sentimentales, nada apresurado o llevado por simple deseo, pero las cosas se van dando poco a poco, los personajes se van conociendo y es decir se basan más en el romanticismo, galanteo, conocerse el uno al otro, el apoyo mutuo, entre otros.
En resumen, The King Land es una serie que no solo nos da a conocer un poco del mundo del hotelería, nos presenta desarrollo de personajes, trama y humor que vale el tiempo que le dedicas, así que la recomiendo ampliamente, le doy un 8 de 10.

I watched King the land sometime ago and it really was worth every hype. The slow pacing, the transition from dislike to actual love, I really liked it. The actings here too were top-notch that i fell so in love with the series, and didn’t want it to end. You’ve captured the essentials of the movie im your review. I love it💕
