Family: Shadow Force Review

Hi movie lovers! I hope we are enjoying our day. So, last weekend, I decided to see a movie recommended to me by my friend. It is no other movie than shadow force. This is 2025 movie and was directed by Joe Carnahan.

Shadow force is an action movie that centers around two lovers in the same secret force: Isaac and Kyrah. Their love started as friendship in this secret unit, which later metamorphosise to a wild fire of love. They became so fond of each other and Kyrah got impregnated, which was against the rules of the force. Their longing for each other and the desire to stay together as family made them abscond the group to born, raise and protect their little gem. This move however caused a great havoc to the group and especially Cinder, the secretary general that founded the group. Issac and Kyrah were known as Ombra and Sombra in the unit. They were highly trained professional and their leaving really ruined really ruined Cinder's plan.

After so many back and forth, the Kyrah decided to go back to the group while her husband hid to protect the baby till the people that may be after their lives are brought down. Years later, Issac blew his cover accidentally. He was caught in the camera, fighting some armed robbers like a pro at the bank. Hence, Cinder was able to know his whereabouts and set the rest of the group against him. Cinder decided to double their reward in order for them to take the operation more seriously.

Kyrah on the other hand couldn't hold her peace and watch them kill her lover and her child. So, she also came out, locate her lover, Issac and her baby, Mor gas and protect them. They both fought their enemies without backing out,until all were taking down. This was not without the help of two trusted friends of their that they referred to as uncle and aunty. Even though uncle betrayed them, aunty stood by them and ensure their boy was protected throughout the movie till they reuinted back as family .

REVIEW
This movie explores the themes of love, family, friendship and betrayal. It emphasizes family bond and places family above all things. Of course, Issac and Kyrah would have got richer if they remained in the force, but they wanted more. They wanted more than money, more than position and praise of men. They chose family and pursued it till it was established.

Also, their boy, Mon gars was single handedly raised by the father while the mother was out there protecting them. He never even had an idea of what his mother looked like until the mother showed up. But he was raised passionately with love. He was a very smart boy. He was so inquisitive and always asking questions when he seemed confused.

This really opposes the saying that a single parent cannot raise a good child. It showed that anyone that wants to passionately raise a child can do it, irrespective of the gender. Issac poured his heart raising the kid, even as a man and it was a successful parenting. Despite the fact that he was a highly trained shooter. He abandoned everything for parenting. This was evidently when he missed the target while practicing with his wife, when she came around. He clarified he had not held gun nor shoot for long, because of the presence of his child. This really shows how intentional he was about parentage and how well it paid off.

It is true that a tree cannot make a forest and no man is an island. We need one another to survive. Despite the fact that this couple are skilled and could handle any situation that came their way. They still needed the help of their friends: aunt and uncle that worked with the government to protect their child. And that really helped them. Though uncle later betrayed them, but through aunt they were helped. This really buttressed the fact that there are good ones out there despite the fact that many are evil.

Despite the great themes explored in the movie, and the good leasons taught, I have many reservations about the movie. The first is that the movie is multilingual: They speak English, French and Spanish. While that was good and supposed to be the strength of the movie, it turned out to be a limitation, because they didn't do due diligence to subtitle French and Spanish. A lot was said, that was crucial to the plot, but audience were left confused.

Also, little was known in the plot about Kyrah's pregnancy, where she had the baby and her post natal experience before she came many years after. Was she with the secret force, or where exactly was she protecting the family from?
Above all shadow force is an interesting movie that is full of suspense.
