A bad streak of horror movies | THE MUMMY

I haven't had much luck with horror movies lately, it's always the same story: "THE BEST MOVIE OF THE YEAR." I'm starting to get a phobia of that phrase; it's rarely true, and it's quite frustrating to waste time on such awful movies. Today I'll give you my opinion on this film that I thought was the most terrifying thing I've seen in months: "The Mummy."

Horrifying, in the worst sense of the word… This film shows us a family of two children, a father and mother, who are in Egypt for work. It is there that the family's daughter is kidnapped. A girl had apparently been visiting the child for a long time, giving her sweets to gain her trust. Finally, she is kidnapped and disappears for eight years. When she returns home, the girl is extremely weak, broken, with severe injuries, but above all, she doesn't seem human. She doesn't communicate, and as the days go by, everyone notices that something is wrong with her.

The film had a premise with a lot of potential, but it ends up being very strange, with horrible acting, tactless situations that don't know how to handle tension, everything is destined to happen so suddenly without any sense of logic from any of the characters, the acting was HORRIBLE, especially by the children's mother, I really don't understand why that actress had so little desire to do a good job.

I realized that this movie was trying so hard to be shocking that they went way overboard, to the point of being ridiculous. It's like they combined Evil Dead and The Exorcist, put them in a blender until they were destroyed, and this movie came out. It has some extremely disgusting scenes, but they're so poorly executed that they won't even be memorable like the iconic scene from The Exorcist where Regan vomits green. I feel like they wanted to make things that iconic and they really failed.

And if we count the plot holes, I could spend all night writing about them, not to mention the terrible decisions each character makes. It's infuriating to see so many people in the movie and not a single one of them has a brain. It was truly awful; I almost fell asleep watching it. I really do NOT recommend it.
