A franchise that should die

The Conjuring was truly one of my favorite movie franchises until we saw the third and fourth installments, which, for me, were incredibly boring. Many more films were born from this franchise, like The Nun and Annabelle, and I honestly feel that some of them are completely unnecessary, released solely to milk the Conjuring saga for all it's worth. I still remember the heart-stopping scares that The Conjuring 1 and 2 gave me; they were great movies in their time, but it's time to stop...

This latest installment of The Conjuring had me quite excited, but as the minutes of the movie passed, the smile faded from my face. It's more of the same, only this time Ed and Lorraine's daughter is more involved in the story. I spent a long time waiting for something interesting to happen, and when we finally got to see some action, it wasn't surprising at all since they used the same terrible formula as always, and you're not even surprised that they're going to scare you anymore.

I think this is the only thing that impressed me, and it only appears once. I'm not saying it's wonderful, since it looks quite poorly edited, but it's not that bad, and perhaps if it were better done and more frequently used in the story, it would be very scary.

This film poses almost the same problem as all the others, only to resolve it in the most illogical way, where everything is solved by the power of love and family. I definitely didn't like this movie; it bored me to tears, and it truly saddens me to say this because I love Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson.
