El genero de Body Horror se ha convertido en uno de mis favoritos y vaya que esta película tiene mucho de eso, ayer por la noche mi esposo y yo decidimos ver esta película en la cual sinceramente no sabíamos que esperar solo había visto algunos comentarios de internet diciendo que era buena, pero yo nunca vi ni siquiera un tráiler, asi que fue aun mas impresionante todo. Mi esposo en cada escena nueva tenia una cara de traumado peor que la anterior, me dio muchísima risa, a mi me encantan las películas que dan este tipo de reacciones.
The body horror genre has become one of my favorites, and this movie definitely has plenty of it. Last night, my husband and I decided to watch it. Honestly, we didn't know what to expect; I'd only seen some online reviews saying it was good, but I'd never even seen a trailer, so it was all the more impressive. With each new scene, my husband's face looked more traumatized than the last. It was hilarious; I love movies that elicit those kinds of reactions.
Antes de empezar a ver la película pensé que quizás era una historia que no conocía, una historia de una chica fea que toma venganza de los demás por hacerle bulliying o algo asi, pero realmente fue muy diferente lo que vi… Resulta que esta película es como un punto de vista diferente de cenicienta, mostrando esta vez como protagonista a una de las hermanastras de cenicienta, una chica considerada “fea” y que, con ayuda de su madre llega a unos extremos absurdos por lograr su sueño de ser hermosa y casarse con el príncipe.
Before I started watching the movie, I thought it might be a story I didn't know, a story about an ugly girl who takes revenge on others for bullying her or something like that, but what I saw was actually very different… It turns out that this movie is like a different take on Cinderella, this time showing one of Cinderella's stepsisters as the protagonist, a girl considered "ugly" who, with her mother's help, goes to absurd extremes to achieve her dream of being beautiful and marrying the prince.

La actriz principal de este filme es bastante buena en lo que hace, su actuación me envolvió demasiado en la historia y en los momentos mas tensos ella lograba transmitir esa desesperación y locura, tiene unos ojos bellísimos y grandes que además sabe como usarlos para expresar cada emoción, pero ella no solo fue quien se lució, realmente todas las actuaciones fueron geniales sobre todo la madre, que logró llenarme de ira por que gracias a ella su hija se fue hundiendo cada vez más.
The lead actress in this film is quite good at what she does; her performance drew me completely into the story, and in the most tense moments, she managed to convey that desperation and madness. She has beautiful, huge eyes that she knows how to use to express every emotion. But she wasn't the only one who shone; all the performances were truly great, especially the mother, who managed to fill me with anger because, thanks to her, her daughter sank deeper and deeper.

Algo muy hermoso que he notado de estas películas (o al menos las que yo he visto) de Body horror es que en su mayoría tienen juegos de cámaras muy diferentes, acercamientos espontáneos en momentos de tensión, no se mucho de efectos por eso no se explicarlo bien, pero manejan una estética increíble que definitivamente aporta bastante a la película y esta no es la excepción, ya que tiene una estética tremenda en cada escena que me dejaba completamente hipnotizada.
Something very beautiful that I've noticed about these Body Horror movies (or at least the ones I've seen) is that they mostly have very different camera techniques, spontaneous close-ups in moments of tension. I don't know much about effects, so I can't explain it well, but they have an incredible aesthetic that definitely contributes a lot to the film, and this one is no exception, as it has a tremendous aesthetic in every scene that left me completely mesmerized.

Aunque es verdad que no es una película para todo el mundo, ya que si eres muy sensible a las cosas grotescas o al body horror probablemente no soportes ciertas escenas, yo me reí y me traume varias veces pero definitivamente me encantó, una propuesta diferente que además es la versión oscura de una historia que siempre Disney nos ha contado como un “cuento de hadas” es sumamente interesante y te deja con ganas de ver mas historias asi.
While it's true that it's not a film for everyone, since if you're very sensitive to grotesque things or body horror you probably won't be able to handle certain scenes, I laughed and was traumatized several times, but I definitely loved it. It's a different take, a dark version of a story that Disney has always told us as a "fairy tale," and it's extremely interesting and leaves you wanting to see more stories like it.
