Awkwafina comes through with another fascinating movie titled Quiz lady. The film turns out to be quite a delightful and comic movie. Awkwafina teams up with Sandra Oh to make this film quite a remarkable one. Awkwafina, whose character in this movie is Anne, is portrayed as a socially awkward, introverted woman who is mostly concerned and develops interests in game shows. And then there's her older sister named Jenny, played by Sandra Oh.

Though they each tread on different paths, the find themselves converging when their mother who is a gambler gets herself into a substantial debt, putting their beloved pug, Mr. Linguini, in jeopardy of being kidnapped. So, in order to save their companions, Mr Linguini, and of course their mother from the hands of the debt collectors, the two sisters are left with the option of going on a cross-country adventure, and get involved in Anne's participation in a national TV quiz show.

I just want to say that the chemistry between Awkwafina and Sandra was something I really found interesting while watching the movie. The two actors blended perfectly well with each other. Anyone who's watched the film will agree with me that their sisterhood bond was just unbreakable. Now when it comes to individuality, Sandra Oh, in particular, did quite a fantastic job in her role as Jenny. The lady really deserves her flowers. It's as if to say that she stole the scene. I found her performance really hilarious and well delivered.

Awkwafina was quite the opposite in her type of personality. She was the more reserved character, though she brought her own contribution to hilariousness into the film also. She does that in almost all of her movies, if not all. I do commend her ability to Annie's weaknesses, intelligence and quiet determination. It was really beautiful seeing both characters providing us lots of funny moments. They really proved their versatility in this incredible movie.

Beyond the laughter, another thing I admired and found quite interesting was their ability to throw light on sibling relationships. Underneath the humor which was no doubt refreshing, the movie gave us an interesting narrative about two sisters who have drifted apart due to past traumas and unspoken resentments. Despite their differences and the friction they had between themselves, they both managed to reconcile with themselves. I guess some relationships with siblings are like that.

Like in my own personal experience, I became closer to my elder brother as we grew older compared to when we were a lot younger. So in a way I could see myself and my brother in these two characters. One message I could pick from watching the film is about embracing imperfections, forgiving past mistakes, and finding strength in family.

Quiz Lady is widely regarded as a feel-good movie that delivers on its promise of entertainment. The movie's strength lies in its ability to provide genuine laughter, give the viewers a sense of warmth, and celebrate the enduring power of family. It was indeed a satisfying movie to watch.

I rate the movie 7.5 out of 10. I guarantee you that it's the kind of movie that will leave a smile on your face.
