El canto del lobo | Review y Opinión [ESP-ENG]
Embarked in one of the best entertainments to learn and have fun, I share with you the latest film that caught my attention in the catalog of the Netflix platform. The title and the image of the poster immediately indicated to me a drama genre story; the poster contains different shades of blue, denoting coldness or nostalgia of a painful event that from my point of view instills anguish because of the place of the events. However, I decided to enjoy and channel my fear of depth to understand the title that for my ignorance would have enriching information, to know an aspect of the maritime force. The film begins with a thought of Aristotle that promotes reflection to highlight the existence of a group of people who live at risk for a particular purpose.
En la proyección, los colores que predominan es el azul oscuro del mar por la ausencia de la luz; el uniforme oscuro de los tripulantes que tiene sentido para el tema; también las luces rojas, naranja, azules y verdes del interior del submarino proporcionan significado de las escenas tensas. Los efectos especiales visuales no son de gran magnitud, son aceptables; por el contrario, el foco está en el especialista, argumento por encima de la calidad visual. Sin embargo, la música está compuesta de sonidos fríos, naturales, matemáticos y misteriosos, los cuales son fuentes de información para el analista acústico que responde a las exigencias de un superior que requiere respuesta para actuar. Los sonidos de las explosiones, alarmas, disparos, etc. son de menor importancia, prevalece en el guion los efectos acústicos del fondo del mar para identificar que es, es decir, la naturaleza o la intervención del hombre en eventos estratégicos de guerra. El sonar es un recurso importante del submarino, pero el experto en audición debe confirmar si lo que se observa en las pantallas es correcto o descarta la idea al evocar esquemas auditivos según la frecuencia de cada elemento estudiado que emita un sonido determinado; realmente fascinante como el director grafica la capacidad humana en discriminar la fuente para la inteligencia militar, aunque se exagere.
Le chant loup was released in 2019, directed by Antonin Baudry, who offers a different plot. The plot transits about a war event; the fictional cinematography, of drama genre, tells the auditory faculties of an indispensable man of the crew of a French nuclear submarine to detect sounds that threaten the geographical space and the sovereignty of the country. Watching the film allowed me to affirm the idea that super-specialization is valuable, in other words, the presence of the analyst in the tribulation is necessary to listen to the sounds under the sea that rule out risks in the territory.
In the projection, the predominant colors are the dark blue of the sea due to the absence of light; the dark uniform of the crew members makes sense for the theme; also the red, orange, blue and green lights of the submarine's interior provide meaning to the tense scenes. The visual special effects are not of great magnitude, they are acceptable; on the contrary, the focus is on the stuntman, argument over visual quality. However, the music is composed of cold, natural, mathematical and mysterious sounds, which are sources of information for the acoustic analyst who responds to the demands of a superior who requires response to act. The sounds of explosions, alarms, gunshots, etc. are of minor importance, prevailing in the script the acoustic effects of the seabed to identify what it is, i.e. nature or man's intervention in strategic war events. The sonar is an important resource of the submarine, but the hearing expert must confirm if what is observed on the screens is correct or discard the idea by evoking auditory schemes according to the frequency of each element studied that emits a particular sound; really fascinating how the director graphs the human ability to discriminate the source for military intelligence, although it is exaggerated.
The dialogues possess professional technicality and hierarchy, energetic dialogues that characterize the military exercise and affect the viewer by the haste to act. The plot does not lose direction, it exposes the importance of the acoustic analyst for the operation after listening to The Wolf's Song; constantly the film provides further reference to the sounds, which is the plot line. So far so good, the problem of the film is the introduction of a weak romance that is forced and the crazy military decision between the admirer and the submarine commanders that break the military intellectual respect. The film has a fast pace at the beginning, with no taboo on what happens and the decision-making that distresses the military team, and then a pause for an upcoming denouement. Also, the cinematography is powerful because of the performances of actors like Omar Sy, a renowned French artist, who I like the way he plays, in this occasion a commander who puts pressure on his subjects, but puts his life at risk to stop the nuclear disaster; I think it was a laughable role compared to others he has taken on. However, for my taste, the best performance is by François Civil, Officer Grandchamp, labeled, The Golden Ear, the acoustic technician who keeps thinking about the sound that caused indecision. Officer Grandchamp has traits of persistence, as he searches for memories and archives to back up the information analyzed, so he resorts to other resources for credibility. Weakness keeps him away from the mission for which he qualified; however, the story makes a turn in his favor, consecrating himself as the hero who avoids catastrophe among the same military side, reversing the insecurity and panic during the tense situation that brings unfortunate personal consequences for the end.
Why should I see Le chant loup? It is an original film about submarines, the fictional story explains that the sound gives importance, an entertaining, but not great work, which highlights the sound as a real phenomenon; that is, the protagonist of the film is the sound that crosses the projection. On the other hand, the film exposes the mistakes of human beings and the consequences that can end in collateral damage. The film has its flaws in making a potential war drama that ends up as an unhinged military protocol that dresses up as a sonic fortress, which, I reiterate, is the strength of the golden-eared officer's plot. If you like submarine movies, I recommend it to filter new concepts that surely, unlike me, will know how to disprove other ideas raised in the screening about submarines and compare with successful films of vessels operating under the sea and the people who work on it to interpret Aristotle's thought.

Hola ahora por aquí amigaaa 😅, que interesante argumento el hecho de que usen el sonido para determinar eso, o a lo mejor es algo que es obvio que se usa en un submarino, la verdad hablo desde mi ignorancia porque no lo sé, jamas he visto una película de submarinos nunca había visto que usaran este recurso.
Sin embargo, ahora que lo analizo tiene sentido, porque por ejemplo en los ecosonogramas que se les realizan a los pacientes, dependiendo de la sombra que deje la imagen podemos saber que densidad tiene la imagen, si es sólida como un calculo, si es blanda como un tumor, si está llena de líquido como un quiste de hecho les decimos "sombras acústicas" en el lenguaje médico.
Los sonidos también evidentemente producen ondas que se transmiten a través del agua, así que asumo que deben ser distintas entre sí, dependiendo de cual sea el origen y tiene sentido que sean de utilidad cuando un submarino es usado en situaciones de guerra, espionaje, etc, es decir, de peligro.
Me agrada, quiero verla, aunque te cuento que soy como tú, yo le tengo mucho miedo a las profundidades, de hecho le tengo miedo al mar, pero es por esto, por la profundidad, si me prometes que no moriré de un ataque de pánico la veo 😅😅 ¿qué compromiso no?

Concuerdo contigo acerca de la ciencia médica y otras áreas porque el ultrasonido, cardiologia, entre otros el sonido es fundamental, claro apoyado del recurso visual. La inteligencia militar apuesta por el desarrollo de la tecnología y la formación de un personal capacitado para el uso del instrumento y conocimiento, por tanto, el oido de oro es un recurso en la película y en la vida real porque El canto del lobo es real, por lo cual me anime a verla.
Compartimos que la profundidad del mar da temor, pero en la película el centro de atención fue el sonido, así que no te dara miedo,confía.

I have not had the opportunity to see this French film. From everything you comment, the film has many positive aspects. Just looking at the poster, it reminds me of The Hunt for Red October, although they are probably very different plots. It looks like a story done in the classic style. It's strange that I hadn't noticed this film before, but there are so many productions on offer that it's impossible to keep up with them all. I'm definitely going to look it up and watch it.

This film is classic as you mention and I don't know how to compare to The Hunt for Red October because I don't watch these films because I dread the depths. Comparto el temor de la oscuridad del fondo de mar. Existe el profesional que identifica los sonidos con la ayuda de otros instrumentos y expertos se analiza y se identifica el objeto estudiado.
Netflix me gusta por la amplia categoría y la propuesta de otras culturas no tan reconocidas como Estados Unidos.

Creo haber visto esta película, más no la recuerdo muy bien, tendría que volver a verla jiji, yo amo y respeto al mar, y admiro esas personas que tienen el valor de bajar hasta su profundidad, yo no me atrevería, me daría miedo, es algo que no cualquiera se atreve hacer, me gusto como describes la magnitud de los colores, el sonido, todo eso que se siente y se trasmite al ver un film así.😍

Creo que las chicas compartimos el respeto a la profundidad del mar y por eso no elegimos este tipo de peli, pero en este caso, el titulo me gustó y me arriesgué y valió la pena aprender avances de la tecnología.
Te agradezco la recomendación la tomaré en cuenta en otros post. Supongo que te refieres a los textos de español e inglés?
