El sastre de la mafia se estrenó en 2022 bajo la dirección de Graham Moore, quien llevó a cabo El código enigma. En esta oportunidad relata la historia de Leonard, un sastre famoso inglés de Londres. Leonard sufre una tragedia que lo obliga a desplazarse de sus raíces hasta Chicago a una zona complicada donde ahora debe confeccionar diseños para las personas del lugar. En el nuevo hogar opera una mafia de gánsteres que abusa de la amabilidad del sastre y de su secretaria; quienes están próximos a involucrarse en una situación difícil de escapar. Un género que comprende drama, crimen y mafia, la combinación perfecta para generar la atmósfera tensa hecha de terminaciones estéticas, de acciones y de argumentos.

Relaxing while watching movies is a matter of enjoyment. It is an exercise in connecting with the story that leads you to analyze and form an opinion about the life being told. You are likely to construct hypotheses because you observe details, effects, emotions, and other components of the narrative to get closer to a possible ending. However, there are films that are a Pandora's box, such as The Mafia Tailor, permeated with constant twists and turns. So you either let yourself be carried away or question the film's objective.
The Mafia Tailor premiered in 2022 under the direction of Graham Moore, who directed The Enigma Code. This time, it tells the story of Leonard, a famous English tailor from London. Leonard suffers a tragedy that forces him to leave his roots behind and move to Chicago, to a complicated area where he must now make designs for the local people. In his new home, a gangster mafia operates, taking advantage of the kindness of the tailor and his secretary, who are about to get involved in a situation from which it will be difficult to escape. A genre that combines drama, crime, and the mafia, it is the perfect combination to create a tense atmosphere made up of aesthetic finishes, actions, and storylines.
Los diálogos presentan pausas argumentativas, invisibles o visibles de la confección. Cada discurso tiene artificios que, como espectador, te toca decidir en creer o cuestionar cuando los personajes te han convencido de ser quienes dicen la verdad. El detalle de la producción son los giros que pueden abrumar o entretener al observador. Para mi gusto, este film tiene la puesta de escena del actor Mark Rylance quien asume la vida del sastre Leonard. La magnífica interpretación del protagonista pinta la conducta del personaje, un sujeto analítico y creativo que se ocupa de ocultar o mostrar las costuras del hecho.

The setting takes place in a single space; we are talking about a single location. This type of film location must harmonize the performances and the narrative to promote the purpose of the film; in this case, intrigue in a tense atmosphere of good taste. It is like seeing the mixture of violence in the hands of elegance. In addition, the decor dates back to 1956, and the costumes and overall image of the characters are neat.
The dialogues feature argumentative pauses, some invisible and others visible in the editing. Each speech contains devices that, as a viewer, you must decide whether to believe or question when the characters have convinced you that they are telling the truth. The detail of the production is in the twists and turns that can overwhelm or entertain the viewer. For my taste, this film features the performance of actor Mark Rylance, who takes on the role of tailor Leonard. The protagonist's magnificent performance paints a picture of the character's behavior, an analytical and creative individual who is concerned with hiding or revealing the seams of the story.

Hive users and creators, as a film enthusiast, my review and opinion is an invitation that stems from the following question: why should I watch The Mafia Tailor? For some, it is a film constructed of twists and turns, with an excessive succession of plot points; for others, it is an ingenious and theatrical film. From my perspective, it challenges the viewer to be analytical and not take what is obvious at face value; that is, it unlocks the levels of breaking down the story under Mark Rylance's masterful interpretation, orchestrated by the set design (costumes, sound, props, etc.) in accordance with the events of the story.
