Lucky Number Slevin (2006)

Lucky Number Slevin is considered an interesting proposal in the current film scene, as it has a great cast and a very attractive trailer.
Unlike other productions, the trailer doesn't deceive us and provides us with nearly 100 minutes of fun and entertainment.
With echoes of Hitchcock and his ‘With Death on our Heels’, Paul McGuigan shows us the vicissitudes of the life Josh Hartnett went through when he was mistaken for someone else.
The interesting thing about this film is that it doesn't even take itself seriously at first, which gives us the freedom to watch it with humour and witness situations that seem unrealistic or even a little ridiculous.

The casting of this thriller works very well because we identify and sympathise with these characters, which makes it easier to get carried away by the events written by Jason Smilovich.
The pacing and editing do the rest very well, as we don't get lost in the explanations given, nor in the presentation of the characters, as has happened to others, such as the recent ‘Syriana’.
The script is commendable in that it has some very successful and effective twists that don't make us feel forced, which also facilitates the work of the actors, such as Josh Hartnett and Bruce Willis.
Sir Ben Kingsley, Morgan Freeman and Lucy Liu are the trio of aces accompanying the aforementioned pair, playing two mob bosses and the protagonist's neighbours respectively.
All in all, ‘Lucky Number Slevin’ is a successful film, has an interesting script that may remind us of ‘The Usual Suspects’ and will please action movie fans with several clue-giving characters, the timeless solution, too. Idolise Tarantino, Rodriguez and Doug Liman.
