Gavin O'Connor, the director of “Warrior” and “Way back” also with Ben Affleck, returns to the camera nine years after the first installment, and from what I've read a third part is already underway.
For this occasion all the actors from the previous film return, except for Anna Kendrick.
All the weight of the film is carried by Ben Affleck, Jon Bernthal and Cynthia Addau-Robinson. Highlighting more depth in the characters; however, I think the plot is a bit confusing at times.
There is no shortage of good action moments and some comedy between the two brothers.
The first installment grossed 156 million dollars worldwide, a fairly high figure for an action movie with a modest budget (around 40), was considering making a TV series, but in the end Ben Affleck, who became a producer, has taken this project and the next one forward.
An entertaining film, with a sometimes convoluted and not very credible story, but that makes you have a good time being the only thing it pretends.
