Movie Review ~ The King of Kings

This 3D animated film offers a novel take on the New Testament, with the unique twist of using Charles Dickens as the narrator to tell the story of Jesus.
Aimed primarily at Christian or Catholic audiences, the film recounts Jesus' journey in vivid detail, presenting an accessible narrative through carefully crafted digital animation.
From my perspective, the film is emotional and entertaining, and it is surprising that its production cost only $15 million.
Its animation, although not reaching the technical level of major studios such as Disney Pixar, significantly surpasses the questionable CGI of Snow White (2025) and presents a much more solid and moving story.
Even if you are not a believer, I believe this film can be enjoyed as an interesting and independent offering, as its narrative and visual quality works well beyond a religious orientation.

As for choosing between seeing it in the theater or waiting to see it at home, I think it deserves a chance on the big screen, especially during this season.
The animation, although limited compared to the standards of more renowned studios, has an attractive aesthetic that shines especially in the cinema. As a believer, I value not only the religious message but also the effort behind the production and the simple and effective way in which it manages to convey its story.

However, not everything is perfect. Something that bothered me were the unnecessary interruptions that disrupted the narrative rhythm at key moments.
The cat included in the film was a low point for me: far from being adorable or funny, its presence was annoying and completely out of place. Honestly, it added nothing to the story.
That said, I believe this film can be valuable in bringing children closer to the figure of Jesus from an accessible perspective, and I hope it will also move adults who decide to watch it.
