[Movie] Be careful what you wish for: Coraline's ambiguous fate / Review[Eng-Spn]

This film is about a girl who has just moved to a new house with her parents. Coraline doesn't know anyone, she isn't allowed to go out, and she feels like her parents aren't paying attention to her. Tired of this situation, she starts bothering them to get their attention, until her stressed mother finally gives her permission to explore the house. That's how she finds a small, locked door that intrigues her. Her mother gives her the key, but when she opens it, she's disappointed to see that the door is completely locked.

However, that same morning, some mice lead her to a secret tunnel. Upon crossing it, she discovers a world identical to her own, but where her parents do care for and indulge her. The only disturbing detail is that they have buttons for eyes. The illusion shatters when they tell her that, to stay there, she too must sew buttons onto her eyes. Coraline refuses, and that is when the "Other Mother" transforms into a terrifying being. Realizing that not everything is as it seems, Coraline demands to go back, but the creature refuses and traps her behind a mirror along with the souls of other kidnapped children, promising to restore their eyes.

After a brief escape, Coraline discovers that her real parents have disappeared. To save them, she makes a bet with the evil mother. As she solves the puzzles, that perfect world begins to unravel. Although the Other Mother tries to set one last trap for her, Coraline manages to outwit her and escape with the help of a cunning black cat. In the end, I love that it leaves you wondering whether she really escaped or if it was all a figment of her imagination.

It's a film worth watching so you can draw your own conclusions about the plot, where you encounter situations that are sometimes not what they seem.

Esta película trata sobre una niña que se acaba de mudar a una nueva casa con sus padres. Coraline no conoce a nadie, no la dejan salir y siente que sus papás no le prestan atención. Cansada de esta situación, empieza a molestarlos para captar su interés, hasta que su mamá, estresada, le da permiso de explorar la casa. Así es como encuentra una pequeña puerta cerrada que le causa mucha intriga. Su mamá le da la llave, pero al abrirla se decepciona al ver que la puerta está completamente cerrada.

Sin embargo, esa misma madrugada, unos ratones la guían hacia un túnel secreto. Al cruzarlo, descubre un mundo idéntico al suyo, pero donde sus padres sí la atienden y consienten. El único detalle perturbador es que tienen botones en los ojos. La ilusión se rompe cuando le dicen que, para quedarse allí, ella también debe coserse botones. Coraline se niega y es ahí cuando la "Otra Madre" se convierte en un ser aterrador. Al darse cuenta de que no todo es lo que parece, Coraline exige regresar, pero la criatura se niega y la encierra tras un espejo junto a las almas de otros niños secuestrados, a quienes les promete recuperar sus ojos.

Tras escapar momentáneamente, Coraline descubre que sus verdaderos padres han desaparecido. Para salvarlos, hace una apuesta con la malvada madre. A medida que resuelve los acertijos, ese mundo perfecto comienza a desintegrarse. Aunque la Otra Madre intenta tenderle una última trampa, Coraline logra superarla y escapar con la ayuda de un astuto gato negro. Al final, me encanta que te deja con la duda de si realmente logró escapar o si todo fue producto de su imaginación.
