RE: A Geeky Guy's Guide to Novocaine

I was curious how a character with no sense of pain can be a superhero. I understand that he doesn't feel pain, but to make decisions as a hero without empathy, without putting himself in other people's shoes or thinking about others to accept or refuse any pain or action, how would he handle it? Or do I think he's looking for logic where he shouldn't?
