Cine TV Contest #36 - Favorite Halloween Movie

...and I'm going to invite my friends @brujita18, @tere.alv, @ismaelgranados and @chacald.dcymt to participate.

TWO HALLOWEEN FAVORITES

One of the things that we enjoy the most on the days before Halloween and on the night of it, are the horror movies inspired by this momentous date. Everything that talks about witches, demons, black magic, spells, ghosts, paranormal situations, among other topics, are the most attractive to meet in a group in front of the TV, a "Halloween Night".

I want to share with you two very interesting options for these days before Halloween and for the very night it is celebrated, I hope you enjoy them.

• The Curse of Bridge Hollow

It was recently released on the Netflix platform, a very nice movie with Marlon Wayans, whom we already know from his numerous comedy films alongside his brothers, the so-called Wayans brothers. The movie is titled “The Curse of Bridge Hollow”, and I, who really like horror movies, although contradictorily I am a walking source of fear, hahaha, I loved this one, because it has an attractive mix horror and comedy that doesn't make my hair stand on end.

This film, whose central theme is "Halloween", is about a family that decides to move to this town (Bridge Hollow) precisely in the middle of the Halloween celebration, and when they arrive they find the entire town decorated with themes alluding to that date. The father whose profession was Scientist, and who did not like the celebration of witches and such, had to get involved in it by helping his daughter to rescue the city from Jack, a wicked spirit that reappears and decides to give life to all the terrifying Halloween decorations that were decorating the place.

Our protagonists move to this town and precisely occupy the place where a spiritualist lived who died right there in her house. The town held an event whose theme was the story of Jack, a very mean and stingy inhabitant who was hanged by the townspeople and whose curse was unleashed every Halloween.

In the midst of scares and funny moments where all the characters get involved and the protagonist ends up waging a pitched battle against Jack, the haunted decorations and time, this funny but also terrifying movie takes place that came at the most appropriate time of the year to make its premiere, the celebration of Halloween.

The part I liked the most? Well, there were really a lot of them, I enjoy the moments where this protagonist panics because his gestures are very funny, and in this movie there were many, but one of the things that I enjoyed the most was the special effects used to bring the spirit of Jack to life. and to all the decorations, it was really amazing, and the way they did away with it, sheer madness. I recommend them! You are going to have a very pleasant time, so prepare your chair and your popcorn, because with this film you will not want to leave your seat.

• Tales at nightfall

The second movie I selected is originally titled “Night Books”, but for Hispanic audiences it was titled “Tales at nightfall”. This option is less fun but very interesting. In my opinion it is a children's film but it is not for children, rather it is aimed at young and adult audiences.

The film is about Alex, a boy who was addicted to horror stories, and was trapped in the magical house of Natacha, a witch who was very bad, and who demanded that he tell her a horror story every night or else , killed him.

In the place, Alex met Yasmín, another girl who was also trapped, and together, in the midst of terrifying moments, they tried to escape from the place. This story is full of fantasy, but there are also truly creepy moments.

The film has many interesting messages, especially about the fear and addictions of children, and how these experiences can be transcendental in their lives.

DOS FAVORITAS DE HALLOWEEN

Una de las cosas que más disfrutamos en los días de vísperas de Halloween y en la noche de la misma, son las películas de terror inspiradas en esta fecha tan trascendental. Todo lo que habla de brujas, demonios, magia negra, hechizos, fantasmas, situaciones paranormales, entre otros temas, son lo más atractivo para reunirse en grupo frente a la TV, una “Noche de Brujas”.

Les quiero compartir dos opciones muy interesantes para estos días de Vísperas de Halloween y para la misma noche en que se celebra, espero las disfruten.

• La maldición de Bridge Hollow

Recientemente fue estrenada en la plataforma Netflix, una película muy simpática con Marlon Wayans, a quien ya conocemos por sus numerosas películas de comedia al lado de sus hermanos, los tan mencionados hermanos Wayans. La película lleva por título “La maldición de Bridge Hollow”, y a mí, que me gustan mucho las películas de terror aunque contradictoriamente soy una fuente ambulante de miedo, jajaja, ésta me encantó, porque tiene una mezcla atractiva de terror y comedia que no me pone los pelos tan de punta.

Esta película cuyo tema central es el “Halloween”, trata sobre una familia que decide mudarse a este pueblo (Bridge Hollow) justamente en plena celebración de Halloween, y al llegar se encuentran con todo el poblado decorado con temas alusivos a esa fecha. El padre cuya profesión era Científico, y que no sentía agrado por la celebración de brujas y esos temas, tuvo que involucrarse en ella al ayudar a su hija a rescatar la ciudad de Jack, un espíritu perverso que reaparece y decide darle vida a todos los terroríficos adornos de Halloween que se encontraban decorando el lugar.

Nuestros protagonistas se mudan a esta población y precisamente ocupan el lugar donde vivía una espiritista quien murió allí mismo en su casa. El pueblo celebraba un evento cuyo tema era la historia de Jack, un habitante muy malo y tacaño a quienes los pobladores ahorcaron y cuya maldición se desataba cada Noche de Brujas.

En medio de sustos y momentos graciosos donde todos los personajes se involucran y el protagonista termina librando una batalla campal contra Jack, los adornos embrujados y el tiempo, transcurre esta divertida pero también aterradora película que llegó en la época más adecuada del año para hacer su estreno, la celebración de Halloween.

¿La parte que más me gustó? Bueno, realmente fueron muchas, yo disfruto los momentos donde este protagonista entra en pánico porque sus gestos son muy graciosos, y en esta película hubo muchos, pero una de las cosas que disfruté más fueron los efectos especiales utilizados para darle vida al espíritu de Jack y a todos los adornos, fue realmente sorprendente, y la manera cómo acabaron con ellos, una completa locura. ¡Se las recomiendo!, van a pasar un momento muy agradable, así que preparen su silla y sus palomitas de maíz que con este film no van a querer despegarse del asiento.

• Cuentos al caer la noche

La segunda película que seleccioné se titula originalmente “Night Books”, pero para el público hispano se tituló “Cuentos al caer la noche”, Esta opción es menos divertida pero muy interesante. En mi opinión es una película de niños pero no es para niños, más bien está dirigida al público joven y adulto.

El filme trata sobre Alex, un niño que era adicto a las historias de terror, y quedó atrapado en la casa mágica de Natacha, una bruja que era muy mala, y quien le exigía que le narrara cada noche un cuento de terror o si no, lo mataba.

En el lugar, Alex conoció a Yasmín, otra niña que también estaba atrapada, y juntos, en medio de momentos aterradores, trataron de escapar del lugar. Esta historia está llena de fantasía, pero también hay momentos verdaderamente espeluznantes.

La película tiene muchos mensajes interesantes, sobre todo trata el miedo y las adicciones de los niños, y cómo estas experiencias pueden ser trascendentales en su vida.
