PATHAAN 2023 Film Review - Shah Rukh Khan's great action while hunting down traitors

Apart from Hollywood films, I also really like watching Bollywood action thriller films which have really amazing epic scenes, and when watching Bollywood films about action, I always choose films that have stories about the action of an Indian secret agent who is really great at carrying out his mission.

And the exciting Bollywood film from India that I just finished watching is PATHAAN, this film was released in 2023 and has a score of 6.4 from the IMDB site.

The film directed by Siddharth Anand stars great actors from India such as Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Salman Khan and other great actors.

The synopsis of this film tells the story of a very powerful Indian agent named Pathaan who wants to thwart the actions of a group of mercenaries led by Jim who intend to destroy India's sovereignty. The following is a short story from the film Pathaan.

The film opens with a Pakistani Intelligence Agent Leader named General Kadir who is diagnosed by doctors as suffering from Leukemia and is predicted to only have 3 years left to live.

In the room, General Kadir saw the news that India had canceled Article 370 regarding the region called Kashmir. Kashmir is an area that has long been contested by Pakistan and India.

Then, General Kadir immediately called a former Indian Intelligence Agent named Jim and asked him to work together to respond to India's arbitrary actions.

Jim himself is a former great Indian Intelligence Agent who decided to defect and rebel against India. The reason Jim betrayed his country began when Jim rescued an Indian citizen hostage who was being held by Somali pirates.

It was a noble act that made Jim suffer, when Indian pirates took revenge on Jim by taking Jim and his pregnant wife hostage, the pirates asked Indian Intelligence for ransom.

However, the RAW organization, which is an Indian intelligence agency, decided not to grant the ransom, which resulted in Jim's pregnant wife being murdered in front of Jim's own eyes.

That's why Jim was very angry with the Indian government, because he felt that his services were not considered by the Indian government.

Hearing General Kadir's invitation, Jim immediately set out a plan to destroy India with an infectious smallpox virus that would be spread in the city of New Delhi, India. This deadly virus can kill anyone instantly if infected by it.

Seeing that Jim had started to act, one of the high-ranking Indian officials named Nandini immediately ordered Pathaan to stop Jim. Heroic actions ranging from gunfights and fierce battles were shown in a very epic manner throughout the film between Jim and Pathaan.

In the middle of the film, one of Jim's subordinates named Rubina finally decides to help Pathaan. Rubina is a female intelligence agent from Pakistan who disguises herself as Jim's subordinate.

After learning about Jim's evil intentions, who were working together with General Kadir, Rubina finally decided to help Pathaan thwart Jim's very heinous action, because if the virus spread it would be the same as Genocide against humanity.

Long story short, Nandini had to die in this film because she was caught in Jim's trap. In his anger, Pathaan did not remain silent and immediately returned to hunting for Jim until he was finally able to thwart Jim's action when he wanted to drop the virus ball into the city of New Delhi.

In this intense fight, Jim is shown falling into a ravine and Pathaan finally wins by successfully thwarting Jim's action.

My opinion about this film

I think this is a good film, the story is very interesting and features very spectacular actions, but Indian films are not the same as Hollywood films, in this film every action looks a little unreasonable.

The CGI editing looks clearly not very interesting to watch because the action doesn't make sense, but what makes me like this film is the storyline which is a little complicated but very interesting to enjoy.

The actors in this film also act perfectly, the acting style of each actor in this film such as Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham is very spectacular. I really enjoyed every Action Thriller of this great film.

Overall I say this film is a good film, all the storylines and action are also good, but what I need to comment on this film is that the actions with editing that don't make sense seem to have to be removed a little, such as people flying with robotic wings and also fighting using helicopters in the middle of Dubai City, as well as several other nonsensical actions.

And according to my observations through the final story of this film, there will be a second series related to the film TIGER 3.

Conclusion

Never waste and betray the kindness of a person who is willing to sacrifice his life and the people he loves for you, because if he already has deep vengeful anger, that person will become a very dangerous weapon of destruction.

Just like Jim who really hates India and wants to destroy India. And we must also be people who are responsible and love our homeland like Pathaan who was willing to sacrifice his life to save his country.
