Greetings!!

Sometimes I randomly choose what anime or movies to watch, and I came across this anime series. I was curious from the title itself.

A Girl and Her Guard Dog follows the story of Izaku, the granddaughter of a yakuza boss. Her yakuza grandpa raised her after losing her parents at the age of five. Her gangster grandpa assigned a loyal bodyguard for her safety. It was his right hand, Keiya Uto, a good-looking man, a loyal and dedicated yakuza member.

As Izaku grew up and became a teenager and a high schooler, she wanted to live a normal life and be away from the shadow of her yakuza family. However, Keiya is worried about her safety. So, her overprotective guard dog, Keiya, fabricates his age and enrols or attends the same school as Isaku.

With Keiya's intense presence in school, Isaku struggles to achieve her desire for a normal high school life.

Later, Keiya's actions became extreme, scaring off any boys who showed interest in Isaku. That gesture leads Isaku to question whether his action is purely protective or if he has a romantic feeling for her, and whether she begins to feel the same way about him.

But Isaku was confused and wondered if she could accept her feelings to be in love with Keiya despite being a yakuza and their age gap.

Well, I love the story. It's romantic and funny at times, although their age gap and various factors which is unrealistic. Anyway, this is a work of fiction after all. However, the story, especially some of the comical scenes, is entertaining.

And I believe that in every story, whether fictional or realistic, we can obtain some moral lesson too. In this series, the main lesson is the importance of boundaries and self-determination in relationships. Maintaining appropriate boundaries is very important to a healthy relationship, allowing for mutual respect and personal growth.
I don't think it's a must-watch and very recommendable, it really depends on our understanding and perception of a movie or series. I just randomly picked this to watch that time, but I finished it and was entertained too.

I won't be a spoiler here, and perhaps some of you, especially anime lovers, have heard some negative criticisms of this anime due to the age gap relationship and the gangster aspect. It's understandable because we have different points of view. But if you feel interested, then I'll invite you to watch this anime series.

I'll just end my post here, and thank you so much for reading.
See you around and God bless… 🙂🙏💖

I watched this anime as it aired and it was hard to finish for the same reason you mentioned at the end about the gangster boy's relationship with the protagonist. There are some scenes that simply make you hate the character because of how obsessive and jealous he is. Also the animation doesn't help at all, I've seen gangster and romance anime better animated than this one. But hey, it's like you say, everyone has their own tastes and opinions.

Good post.
