Excellent analysis, @davidpena21!

I completely agree with your assessment of how daring this concept is. Without a doubt, seeing such a beloved childhood character transformed into a figure of horror creates an inevitable sense of shock.

Personally, I find it difficult to embrace the use of traditionally family-friendly or childhood stories and figures—like Pinocchio here, or puppets, clowns, and Santa Claus—to create horror movies. While I understand the creative choice to instill fear by subverting things we hold dear and familiar, it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. I feel that, in a way, it distorts the hard work and magic of the many people and artists who dedicate themselves to creating fantasy, wonder, and smiles for children.

That said, I acknowledge that the film succeeds in generating tension and offering a fresh take on the genre for those who enjoy such drastic contrasts. Thanks for sharing your review and giving us food for thought regarding this twist in the franchise!
