Overall, it's a treat and a feast on that level, even despite some flaws and inconsistencies (like the woman pouring sewage onto the street despite Silesia's excellent sewage system, which outraged my husband).

Jeszcze gorzej patrzeć na realia zgniłej władzy ludowej, która brnie po trupach do celu i nie przejmuje się losem jednostki. Serial obnaża trudną historię naszego kraju i regionu - i właśnie dlatego jest wart obejrzenia. Doceńmy to co było, i cieszmy się, że te czasy minęły.

And finally, the plot. It's impossible to overstate the role played by the stubborn and determined doctor Jolanta Wadowska-Król in saving the children from the Targowisko district of Szopienice. It's difficult to witness the fate of these poor, sick children, whose simple, working-class parents are unsure whether to believe that the steelworks, their nurse, are poisoning them. It's even worse to witness the reality of the rotten communist government, which plows through the earth to achieve its goals and shows no concern for the fate of individuals. The series exposes the difficult history of our country and region—and that's precisely why it's worth watching. Let's appreciate what was, and let's be glad that those times are over.
