Cortafuego, spanish cinema that hooks you🎬🍿
A warm greeting to all my film-loving friends in this community. I hope you are all doing well, in good health and spirits.
Last night, after work, I got home and wanted to treat myself to a little time for myself. I started watching Cortafuegos on Netflix. It's a Spanish drama and suspense film, and as I've said before, I love Spanish cinema and also the combination of drama and suspense with stories that grab you from the very first minutes.
From the moment the film started, I felt that vibe that I like, that feeling that something is not right and that at any moment everything could change. I really like Spanish cinema because it has a very particular way of telling stories, as it doesn't need exaggerated explosions or impossible effects. They always have a good plot and intense performances that manage to draw us into the story in a very real way. Cortafuegos features extraordinary actors, including Belén Cuesta, Enric Auquer, Joaquín Furriel, and Diana Gómez, whom I saw starring in the Spanish series Valeria and loved her performance.

Anoche, después del trabajo, llegué a casa y quise regalarme un ratito para mí. Me puse a ver Cortafuegos en Netflix. Es una película española de drama y suspenso, y como ya lo he dicho antes, me encanta el cine español y, también, la combinación de drama y suspenso con historias que atrapan desde los primeros minutos.
Desde que empezó la película, sentí esa vibra que me gusta, esa sensación de que algo no está bien y de que en cualquier momento todo puede cambiar. Me gusta mucho el cine español porque tiene una forma muy particular de contar las historias, pues no necesitan explosiones exageradas ni efectos imposibles. Siempre cuentan con una buena trama y actuaciones intensas que logran meternos en la historia de una manera muy real. En Cortafuegos actúan extraordinarios actores, entre ellos: Belén Cuesta, Enric Auquer, Joaquín Furriel y Diana Gómez, a quien vi protagonizar la serie española Valeria y me encantó su actuación.
The story of this film revolves around an extreme situation that forces the protagonists to face difficult decisions, hidden secrets, and a gradually growing threat. What seems like an isolated conflict becomes a web of tensions in which no one is completely safe and every action has consequences. As the plot progresses, truths are revealed that change your perspective on everything you thought you understood.
I also liked that not everything was explained in an obvious way. In Cortafuegos, there are things that can be intuited, and this invites us to participate as active viewers.
La historia de este film gira en torno a una situación límite que obliga a los protagonistas a enfrentarse a decisiones difíciles, secretos ocultos y una amenaza que va creciendo poco a poco. Lo que parece un conflicto puntual se convierte en una red de tensiones donde nadie está completamente a salvo y cada acción tiene consecuencias. A medida que avanza la trama, se revelan verdades que cambian la perspectiva de todo lo que creías entender.
También me gustó que no todo estuviera explicado de forma obvia. En Cortafuegos hay cosas que se pueden intuir, y esto nos invita a participar como espectadores activos.
I confess that drama and suspense are my favourite genres because they keep me active and because you have to be present at all times to connect clues, read gestures, anticipate decisions and not miss anything. I love it when a film makes us suspect everyone, when we start to put together theories in our heads and then, from one moment to the next, the whole picture changes. In this film, I was drawing conclusions, thinking "surely this is why," and within minutes I was doubting myself again.
Anyway, it was a film I enjoyed very much. If you ask me, yes, I recommend it. Especially if, like me, you enjoy these stories that make you think, suspect and stay a while longer analysing what you've just seen.
It was definitely the perfect plan for a quiet Monday night at home. 🎬
Les confieso que el drama y el suspenso son de mis géneros favoritos porque me mantienen activa y porque hay que estar presente en todo momento para conectar pistas, leer gestos, anticipar decisiones y así no perderme de nada. Me encanta cuando una película nos hace sospechar de todos, cuando empezamos a armar teorías en la cabeza y después, de un momento a otro, todo el panorama cambia. En esta película, yo iba sacando conclusiones, pensando “seguro es por esto”, y a los minutos ya estaba dudando otra vez.
En fin, fue una película que disfruté muchísimo. Si me preguntan, sí, la recomiendo. Sobre todo si, como yo, disfrutas estas historias que te hacen pensar, sospechar y quedarte un rato más analizando lo que acabas de ver.
Definitivamente fue un plan perfecto para una noche de un lunes tranquilo en casa. 🎬
