Vamos a comenzar con una banda sonora, en realidad una de las canciones principales, pero pueden escuchar toda la lista de reproducción, de una película que debía estar primero, porque la considero importante al extremo. Se trata de la canción de la película Matrix.

Es una película que para mi simboliza mucho, gente viviendo en una matriz, todos conectados y que los controlan unas máquinas. Cualquier similitud con la realidad es pura coincidencia. Desconectarse es despertar a la realidad. Esta película con el paso del tiempo me ha gustado cada vez más y no tanto por la ciencia ficción sino por el mensaje que transmite. Su banda sonora es absolutamente fabulosa, me transporta, me da energía y crea ese efecto de caminar entre la multitud sabiendo que… estamos en una matrix. Es una banda sonora poderosa y como vez vuelvo a traer bandas sonoras orquestales, son de mis favoritas.

Let’s start with a soundtrack actually one of the main tracks, though you can listen to the whole playlist—from a film that really ought to have come first, because I consider it incredibly important. It’s the theme song from The Matrix.

It’s a film that means a great deal to me: people living in a matrix, all connected and controlled by machines. Any resemblance to reality is purely coincidental. To disconnect is to wake up to reality. Over time, I’ve come to like this film more and more, not so much for the science fiction but for the message it conveys. Its soundtrack is absolutely fabulous; it transports me, gives me energy and creates that feeling of walking through a crowd knowing that… we’re in a matrix. It’s a powerful soundtrack and, as you can see, I’m bringing back orchestral soundtracks, they’re among my favourites.

Seguimos con energía y los tonos bien altos y les traigo la canción icónica de una de las películas más famosas de los años 80: Top Gun.

Cuando vi por primera vez esta película fue una sensación de libertad ver a esos aviones a toda velocidad, pero no sólo se trata de los aviones sino de la ambientación, el romance que hay en la película, la historia y el actor, siempre me gustó Tom Cruise. Saber que en muchas escenas no usaba dobles y que eran escenas riesgosas le da más valor. Ya traeré otra de mis películas favoritas de él y con una historia personal.

Pero aquí la banda sonora resalta por su estilo, ritmo, fuerza, es pegadiza y es la indicada para esta película. Es una canción que simboliza velocidad, me encanta. Quien no relacionaría la canción con la película.

When I first saw this film, it gave me a real sense of freedom to watch those planes flying at full speed, but it’s not just about the planes – it’s the setting, the romance in the film, the story and the actor; I’ve always liked Tom Cruise. Knowing that he didn’t use stunt doubles in many of the scenes, and that they were risky scenes, makes it all the more impressive. I’ll be sharing another of my favourite films of his soon, one with a personal story behind it.

But here, the soundtrack stands out for its style, rhythm and power; it’s catchy and perfectly suited to this film. It’s a song that symbolises speed – I love it. Who wouldn’t associate the song with the film?

Ahora vamos bajando el tono para traerles una de las bandas sonoras más perfectas, transporta a cualquiera que la escuche. Es una canción poderosa, que quien vio la película de El Gladiador no podrá olvidar. Se me pone la piel de gallina cada vez que la escucho y me emociona mucho. Debe ser el tono, el modo en que está cantada o quizá el mensaje que me hace llegar.

Es una canción que me hace recordar lo grande que somos pero que un día partiremos al lugar de donde vinimos y que todos vamos hacia ese maravilloso lugar, que estamos en la tierra solo de paso, como quien viene a aprender algo que es necesario para luego seguir el camino. Esta canción es usada en muchos videos, incluso para meditar, eleva el espíritu y da energía y empodera. La película es una de las mejores que transmite un mensaje de lucha por la vida, la unión con los seres que amamos, habla de los principios, del valor, las batallas de la vida y que vale la pena los sueños.

Now let’s tone things down a bit to bring you one of the most perfect soundtracks ever; it transports anyone who hears it. It’s a powerful song that anyone who’s seen the film Gladiator will never forget. I get goosebumps every time I hear it and it really moves me. It must be the tone, the way it’s sung, or perhaps the message it conveys to me.

It’s a song that reminds me of how great we are, but that one day we’ll return to where we came from, and that we’re all heading towards that wonderful place; that we’re only passing through on Earth, like someone who comes to learn something necessary before continuing on their journey. This song is used in many videos, even for meditation; it lifts the spirit, gives energy and empowers. The film is one of the best at conveying a message of the struggle for life, of unity with the people we love; it speaks of principles, of courage, of life’s battles, and of how dreams are worth fighting for.

Finalmente les traigo una canción que es absolutamente maravillosa y la primera vez que la escuché fue en el cine, la emoción que sentí fue indescriptible, aún recuerdo ese día. La música sonaba mientras veía a dinosaurios enormes en la pantalla y a mi favorito el dinosaurio de cuello largo, que come hojas de los árboles. Esa imagen la tengo en mi mente y jamás se irá. En ese momento parecían reales y es lo que logra el cine en pantalla grande en este tipo de películas, hacer sentir que uno está dentro de ellas y que lo que veo es real.

La película Jurassic Park, sobre todo la primera, me ha encantado, es una de mis favoritas, han podido crear un mundo de ilusión especial y traerlo como si fuera real. La banda sonora orquestal es de las mejores, aunque muchas son sublimes, pero esta me da hasta escalofríos, pero de emoción. Vale la pena escucharla de principio a fin, es épica. Otra banda sonora que todo el mundo relacionaría con la película. Una absoluta maravilla para los oídos.

Finally, I’d like to share a song with you that is absolutely wonderful. The first time I heard it was at the cinema, and the emotion I felt was indescribable; I still remember that day. The music was playing as I watched enormous dinosaurs on the screen, including my favourite, the long necked dinosaur that eats leaves from the trees. That image is etched in my mind and will never fade. At that moment, they seemed real, and that’s what big-screen cinema achieves in this sort of film: making you feel as though you’re right inside them and that what you’re seeing is real.

I absolutely loved the film Jurassic Park, especially the first one; it’s one of my favourites. They’ve managed to create a special fantasy world and bring it to life as if it were real. The orchestral soundtrack is one of the best; although many are sublime, this one actually gives me goosebumps, but from excitement. It’s worth listening to from start to finish; it’s epic. Another soundtrack that everyone would associate with the film. An absolute treat for the ears.
