Returning to the cinema after more than nine years 🎬 A great experience. (EN-ES)

Reliving the reasons why I love cinema is something I experienced just a few days ago, when, after more than nine years without going to a cinema, I found myself watching an action film and it made my day.

Revivir las razones por las que me encanta el cine es algo que experimenté hace tan sólo unos días, cuando después de más de nueve años sin ir a una sala de cine, me encontré viendo una película de acción y eso me alegró el día.

Cuando vivía en Argentina iba al cine, aunque no asiduamente por razones económicas, al comienzo y luego quizá por falta de tiempo, el trabajo y otras circunstancias. Pero siempre me encantaron las películas. Dejaba para ir al cine aquellas películas que realmente valían la pena, las que yo con mi criterio consideraba que por detalles visuales o impacto eran preferibles verlas en pantalla grande, una de ellas fue Avatar, la primera, por darles un ejemplo. Y recuerdo que la película que fui a ver al cine tres veces fue Titanic.

El resto de películas, que eran muchas, por cierto, las veía en casa, sobre todo los fines de semana. Ahora no veo tantas películas o series como cuando era adolescente o más joven y la verdad es que después de tantos de no ir al cine había casi olvidado el porque me gustaba tanto.

La razón o razones del porque en ese tiempo no fui a una sala de cine, en principio fue los preparativos de casi dos años para mudarme de país. Creo que las salidas quedaron en un segundo plano y luego estando aquí en España hubo tantas cosas por hacer que sencillamente no fui. Me dediqué más a pasear por la naturaleza y museos que nunca antes había podido hacerlo que ir al cine.

When I lived in Argentina, I went to the cinema, although not regularly for financial reasons at first and then perhaps due to lack of time, work and other circumstances. But I always loved films. I saved going to the cinema for films that were really worth seeing, those that I considered, based on my own criteria, to be preferable to watch on the big screen due to their visual details or impact. One of them was Avatar, the first one, to give you an example. And I remember that the film I went to see three times at the cinema was Titanic.

The rest of the films, which were many, by the way, I watched at home, especially on weekends. Now I don't watch as many films or series as I did when I was a teenager or younger, and the truth is that after so many years of not going to the cinema, I had almost forgotten why I liked it so much.

The reason or reasons why I didn't go to the cinema at that time were, in principle, the preparations for moving to another country, which took almost two years. I think going out took a back seat and then, once I was here in Spain, there were so many things to do that I simply didn't go. I devoted myself more to walking in nature and visiting museums than I had ever been able to do before, rather than going to the cinema.

Pero la semana pasada esa sensación espectacular de tener una pantalla gigante frente a mi revivió ese amor por el cine, que nunca se fue, sólo estaba dormido.

El cine en cuestión está dentro del centro comercial La Rosaleda y las entradas fueron gratuitas, se obtuvieron por una compra realizada que superaba cierto monto. No me esperaba esa sorpresa y la verdad me encantó. El tema era elegir la película, porque aquí hay tanta variedad que la cartelera cambia constantemente.

La película que elegí para ver fue Ruta de escape. Me fascinan las películas de acción, suspenso, intriga, crimen y además el actor es conocido, creo que por eso fue la elegida. En realidad, muchos de los actores que trabajan en las películas son muy conocidos, como Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo y Halle Berry, pero hay muchos otros que también tienen su trayectoria. Creo que siempre he elegido las películas o series por los actores que trabajan en ellas.

Las fotografías que les traigo son del recorrido que hice hasta llegar a la sala 5, que era en la que se exponía la película en cuestión, que por cierto me gustó muchísimo.

But last week, that spectacular feeling of having a giant screen in front of me revived my love for cinema, which never went away, it was just dormant.

The cinema in question is inside the La Rosaleda shopping centre and the tickets were free, obtained with a purchase over a certain amount. I wasn't expecting that surprise, and I really loved it. The challenge was choosing the film, because there is so much variety here that the listings change constantly.

The film I chose to see was Escape Route. I love action, suspense, intrigue and crime films, and the actor is well known, so I think that's why I chose it. In fact, many of the actors who work in films are very well known, such as Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, and Halle Berry, but there are many others who also have impressive careers. I think I've always chosen films or series based on the actors who work in them.

Las actuaciones de los tres actores que menciono son todas muy buenas, a mi parecer, no soy crítica de cine, pero a mi me gustaron. Los papeles que interpretaron y en general el desarrollo y la producción me parecieron de calidad. Si bien la película dura más de dos horas, no sentí el peso del tiempo, sino más bien me fue muy entretenida, esperando el desenlace final y me sorprendieron los giros de último momento.

El tema ronda una serie de robos realizados en joyerías con mucha maestría, en situaciones complicadas donde hay mucha seguridad y donde hay una investigación previa para que no haya lugar a errores, pero a medida que avanza la película las cosas se van complicando y añadiendo más participantes a estos delitos, por lo que el protagonista tiene que ser muy buen estratega para salir bien librado de la posibilidad de ser capturado.

La única actuación que no me gustó mucho fue la del personaje que interpreta al segundo ladrón, creo que, si el personaje hubiera seguido la línea del principal, en cuanto a actuar sin tanta violencia, hubiera hecho más interesante la investigación. Pero creo que esa misma actitud es la que justifica el cómo termina la película. Se trata de el juego del gato y el ratón y en esta producción está muy bien jugado. Creo que el mensaje que en definitiva extraigo de la película es que llega un momento en que cada quien debe hacerse responsable de las decisiones y acciones propias. Aquí no sólo el ladrón es el malo de la película. Cada uno tiene cosas escondidas.

The performances of the three actors I mentioned are all very good, in my opinion. I'm not a film critic, but I liked them. I thought the roles they played and the overall development and production were of high quality. Although the film is over two hours long, I didn't feel the weight of time, but rather found it very entertaining, waiting for the final outcome, and I was surprised by the last-minute twists.

The plot revolves around a series of skilfully executed jewellery store robberies, in complicated situations where there is a lot of security and where there is prior investigation so that there is no room for error. However, as the film progresses, things get more complicated and more participants are added to these crimes, so the protagonist has to be a very good strategist to avoid the possibility of being caught.

The only performance I didn't like very much was that of the character who plays the second thief. I think that if the character had followed the lead character's line of acting without so much violence, it would have made the investigation more interesting. But I think that same attitude is what justifies how the film ends. It's a game of cat and mouse, and in this production it's very well played. I think the message I ultimately take away from the film is that there comes a time when everyone must take responsibility for their own decisions and actions. Here, it's not just the thief who is the villain of the film. Everyone has things to hide.

Mi vuelta al cine fue espectacular, sobre todo en lo que pensaba estando en la sala, era el sonido, los sonidos resaltados de las películas vistas en un cine, por supuesto la pantalla grande también, pero el sonido en este caso fue superior. Me recordó a las películas de El transportador, por momentos.

Por supuesto la recomiendo para pasar un buen rato, es entretenida y las actuaciones son muy buenas y si pueden tener la experiencia de vivirla en el cine mejor aún.

My return to the cinema was spectacular, especially in terms of what I was thinking about while sitting in the theatre: the sound, the enhanced sounds of films seen in a cinema, and of course the big screen too, but in this case the sound was superior. It reminded me of The Transporter films at times.

I definitely recommend it for a good time. It's entertaining and the performances are very good, and if you can experience it in the cinema, even better.
