Hoy, estaba recordando una película que me encanta y que estoy segura que muchos de ustedes la han visto. Su nombre es "Las últimas vacaciones", dirigida por Wayne Wang y protagonizada por la excelente actriz Queen Latifah, dando vida al personaje de Georgia Byrd, en el año 2006.
Puedo asegurarles que, cada vez que tengo la oportunidad me pongo a preparar cotufas para luego encender la TV y sentarme a disfrutar de esta película.
Y es que trata de una mujer humilde que trabaja en una tienda por departamentos y que está llena de sueños, sin embargo, pasa sus días inmersa en la monotonía de su trabajo y no da ese primer paso para hacer realidad esos sueños.
Un día, a Georgia le fué diagnosticada una enfermedad cerebral que no tenía cura. Y el saber que tenía sus días contados fué el motivo que la impulsaría a renunciar a su trabajo, retirar todos sus ahorros del banco y emprender el viaje de sus sueños hacia un lujoso hotel europeo.
Estando ya en el hotel, Georgia, se dispuso a comprar ropa exclusiva de grandes marcas, ordenar en el restaurante del hotel los más exquisitos platos de comida, preparados por el chef que ha admirado toda su vida,
Llega un momento de la película, y confieso que tocó mi corazón, cuando Georgia, después de disfrutar tanto y sentirse tan bien pero sin olvidar que no le quedaba mucho tiempo de vida, estando en la habitación del hotel, ella se observa en el espejo y se dice a sí misma que de tener otra oportunidad de vida se promete reír más, disfrutar más y no tener tanto miedo para seguir sus sueños.
Hasta aquí les cuento, y espero que se motiven a verla y puedan disfrutar de sus hermosos paisajes, maravillosos personajes y un profundo mensaje para reflexionar.
El miedo nos paraliza pero es triste ver pasar la vida y no tener el valor de dar ese primer paso para emprender el camino hacia la realización de nuestros sueños. Seamos valientes para superar los miedos, tengamos coraje para afrontar las dificultades y luchemos por hacer realidad lo que tanto deseamos, la felicidad nos espera, vamos a su encuentro.

Today, I was remembering a movie that I love and that I am sure many of you have seen. Its name is "The Last Holiday", directed by Wayne Wang and starring the excellent actress Queen Latifah, giving life to the character of Georgia Byrd, in 2006.
I can assure you that, every time I have the opportunity, I start preparing popcorns and then turn on the TV and sit down to enjoy this movie.
It is about a humble woman who works in a department store and is full of dreams, however, she spends her days immersed in the monotony of her job and does not take that first step to make those dreams come true.
One day, Georgia was diagnosed with a brain disease that had no cure. And the knowledge that her days were numbered was the reason that prompted her to quit her job, withdraw all her savings from the bank and embark on the trip of her dreams to a luxurious European hotel.
There comes a moment in the film, and I confess that it touched my heart, when Georgia, after enjoying herself so much and feeling so good but not forgetting that she did not have much time left to live, while in the hotel room, she looks at herself in the mirror and says to herself that if she has another chance at life she promises to laugh more, enjoy herself more and not be so afraid to follow her dreams.
I won't tell you more details, but I hope you are motivated to see it and can enjoy its beautiful landscapes, wonderful characters and a deep message to reflect on.
Fear paralyzes us but it is sad to see life go by and not have the courage to take that first step to embark on the path towards the realization of our dreams. Let's be brave to overcome our fears, let's have courage to face the difficulties and let's fight to make what we want so much come true, happiness is waiting for us, let's go find it.
