Movie Review: Wherever love Leads

Where love leads is a very interesting romantic movie that started with a dramatic beginning which was the reason why I got glued to it in the first place. It featured a very popular Nigerian actor Uzor Arukwe who became very popular after he acted “Love in every Word” which trended everywhere some months back.

He was also featured in this movie though he wasn’t the lead actor but his face on the thumbnail image is enough to get people attracted to the movie. The movie began with him proposing to the woman whom he had been dating with a house that he said he bought for her. She was very excited and asked why he wasn’t kneeling down to propose to which he gave a very ridiculous answer. “I just gave you a house, that’s kneeling down in real estate he said”.

He proceeded to say that he was a tittled man and hence doesn’t kneel down for anyone. Well the lady accepted to marry him but the movie took a dramatic turn on the next scene which was the next morning. She woman woke up to seeing him in the living room with so many gifts from his four baby mamas. Wishing the new madam well, one of the baby mamas has three children for him. She was bewildered on hearing that the man she just accepted to marry has four baby mama and six children with other women. He didn’t mention that either. When she requested to know the reason why he hid such sensitive information from her, he said she didn’t ask. Well she couldn’t take the shock and that was how she called off the engagement.

Back home she was heart broken and cried and cried. She felt betrayed. He daughter over heard her crying to which she said it was the noise from the TV. Well, she has a daughter too who she adopted when she was 30. She was under pressure to marry and the men in her life were shitty so she had to adopt a daughter who was a sixteen years old cos she needed someone to call he own. Now she’s forty, never married or gotten pregnant and she’s already feeling like a failure in life. Her daughter is 26 now.

Her daughter on the other hand was into a relationship but a guy who wasn’t treating her right and she had a childhood friend whom they grew up together with from the orphanage who was almost like family to them. One of those days, the mum hit him on the head thinking he was an intruder cos he had been home with her daughter who had left to attend to her demanding boy friend. The mum attended to the wound on the head while awaiting her daughter’s return.

The daughter opted to take the friend to the doctor to treat his wound but got interrupted with having to be available for her boyfriend’s mother’s remembrance and this made her mum to deputize to take her friend to the hospital. After the treatment they were waiting for the girl to come home who she didn’t and the mum and friend got talking and one thing led to the other and they ended up sleeping with each other and this was also because the young man was attracted to older women as he already had a scandal of dating a woman 19 years older than him cos he was an influencer.

Maybe he was looking for the mother care he never had growing up so said the woman. Her daughter found out her boyfriend was cheating on her and was heartbroken and her friend was there to cheer her up. It was then she realized he’s been there for her all these while and was hoping they could start something together but the friend was already into her mum. She found out and that was another heartbreak and it put a strain on their relationship.

The mum got pregnant for her friend who didn’t mind taking responsibility. Infact he had to cancel his trip abroad such to be there for her and his baby. He believed in following love wherever it leads. The daughter was having a hard time talking all that in and had to travel to clear her head. Well, the two love birds of 40 and 28 continued their love to where it led them. It’s a beautiful story that broke the norm of age barrier in relationships. Who makes the rules? Who says that a younger man cannot be with an older woman? At this point, it’s all about where love leads and I love it. 🥰
