Goals, Guns and Panama Papers!

I played football (soccer) last night. It was great.
I meet up with a team of misfits who play every tuesday but I tend to only get there a bit sporadically. Its quite an impactful sport and my body doesnt always feel too happy afterwards, but it feels good to get my adrenaline pumping and give my body a proper field test! Inconsistency is an issue for me in all areas of my life, and its no different in football! Sometimes Im absolutely rubbish and my touch is off and my fitness is lacking, and then other times like last night, Im great! I was an absolute menace to their defence, taking people on, pulling off tricks, scoring 2 goals and getting an assist. Its a pretty glorious feeling when it goes like that and inevitably I cant sleep afterwards. Too much adrenaline and excitement and I just cant settle down. So I ended up watching a double bill of films in to the early hours of the morning.

Criminal

starring kevin costner, tommy lee jones and gary oldman. Its a pretty good concept about the memories of a top agent being transferred in to the mind of an affectionless psychopath so that they can continue to access classified information after the agent has died. Of course it doesn't go too smoothly and all sorts of trouble ensues, but unfortunately the script wasn't quite as interesting as the concept. The idea of an affectionless criminal suddenly obtaining the memories of love and a happy family life, and having to wrestle between two different behavioural patterns was really cool and could have been explored far more deeply. Id love to see Charlie Kaufmann give that concept a go! Mind you, Id love to him give most concepts a go. Lets make a clone army of Charlie Kaufmann! It would certainly get me to the cinema more often...

The Laundromat

This is where it got interesting. Meryl Streep, Gary Oldman (again) and Antonio Banderas star in this darkly comic retelling of the Panama Papers insurance scandal. In a similar vein to Adam Mckay's The Big Short and even The Wolf Of Wall Street, the viewer is taken on a meta journey, littered with explanation, fourth wall breaking, comic tangents and a resounding message about the dangerous power of greed and the infinitely farcical nature of gamified capitalism. It doesnt handle the material with quite the same sparkle and pizazz of the aforementioned examples, but it certainly does its job and leaves you with a deep sense of the injustice of money and 'law' when it is so easily corruptible by the immoral tricksters of this world.

game time.

Splinterlands

snipe quest!

Annihilating a life deck with Delwyn Dragonscale and a beefy magical death deck. MAgi Necrosi is pretty sweet for the snipe ruleset...

ha. Then I tried the same thing again and got absolutely crisped against a life deck, so there you go. Cant get comfortable in this game!

low mana earthquake AND poison combo! The only thing to dod was cleanse the cube and stick out the silvershield archers to get a snipe in there. My opponent also used the cube, but the cleansing did its job and I stoloe the victory!

I didnt bother completing the quest today because It was getting hard and I was dangerously close to dropping out of diamond. Theres only 2 days left of the season so I'll just sit tight for a bit. Ive been entered in to the next guild brawls so I can concentrate on that instead.

Anything Else?

Not really. I dont much feel like checking in to all the crypto nonsense today. I want to go and live some life instead. Eat some good foods, chat some good chats. As someone said to me yesterday:
'Know that none of it matters, but huff and puff like it does'

I like that. Thats going to be my inspiration for the day.

Best of love to you all
