It's limited to the amount of witnesses. Go after the small number of witnesses and you take out the blockchain or at least squeeze it until centralized. We aren't that important. Growth would be the only answer and well on boarding is and has always been the main issue. More witnesses the better.
Nobody can truly predict the future, but I do think that it will contain a good selection of crypto. While only a few will rise to the top, many people will try to launch something.
