Sorry all, I have been pretty quiet of late, but have had an extremely busy time with Post Grad studies, parents healths and taking time for myself, but since the majorty of that is past now, I thought I'd stick my head out the window, so, we continue!

As part of my post grad in Sound Design, I had the option of picking Composition for Screen as a subject rather than a programming based one, now knowing how I am with anything programming based, that would have ended up in having a very bad day!

So, the subject had two assignments linked to it, with the first being to make my own composition for the intro section of the Ethiopian Dystopian sci-fi film Crumbs.

Within this I chose to have the focus on Harp, for which I enlisted the talents of a Scottish Celtic Harp performer to bring the realism in.

Secondary to that a string ensemble was used to add an extra layering to the sound before bringing a string pizzicato at the end to change the dynamic of the scene.

Finally a good curation trail that helps its users achieve rapid growth, its fun on a bun! check it out. https://plug.sh/somlanding/

Hey this is beautiful - so cool that you had access to a real harp player too!

The composition and production are spot on.

Thank you!
I was literally doing this on the edge of my seat having never done anything like it before, it was a real genuine challenge!

It was a weird situation, as they assumed everyone had done and performed music before. Then they remembered a third of us there, were sound engineers rather than musicians, so I forced the debate on how we could link up with musicians, and boom, within that, someone passed me contact details to the Celtic harp player!

Amazing - I think if you weren't before, you are now a musician!
