Isn't it astonishing how our perception has changed with the years. I was 6 when this first aired, so I didn't watch it then, but even 10years later such programs seemed ok and "normal". But looking at it today makes it feel like a curiosity. Like the B movies SF of the time, that are mostly funny for us to watch now.
And we have to keep in mind, also such TV productions were basically low budget B movies. I guess the catering for one episode of GoT has cost more than a whole episode production of Twilight Zone.

Very true! Honestly if this was a 80 minute B movie the score would would be higher. But comparing to such great other Twilight Zone episodes it’s the comparison that hurts it.

t the end of the day its the story that makes a film good or bad. All special effects cannot make a stupid story look good. A good example are the Hitchcock movies. He was a master of using the things you DONT see to create a thrill, instead of showing lots of action. Or the Agatha Christie movies, which are basically 90 minutes of people just talking - and yet they are catching, because the stories are good. And the actors too, of course.
Most impressive I find films that are still looking fresh, yet been made in the 50s or earlier. There are some, which always stay interesting even if they are obviously old. Thats the real art of film, I guess.
