Avatar... The Last Airbender. Movie review.

Its the weekend guys and I thought to cash in on a rain check I had earlier promised a friend here on hive. When this person gave his review, I thought he was underrating the movie. Though he made some valid points, he was still skeptical about the movie and this led to me promising him to watch the same movie series to understand his review better.

The Netflix movie series with its appealing two minutes trailer got me enticed regardless of te review by @davidbright two weeks earlier. I was glad to see that the picture quality was enhanced and the creators of this action series tried their best to stick to the story line without making much changes to the original creation.

I can't tell you all how inlove i was with the Avatar original cartoon series. The lazy and carefree attitude of Aang especially when it came to his duties was something to laugh about. To top it off, he had an accomplice or should I call Sokka, his partner in laziness.

Oh how about the courageous Katara, the one girl ready and willing to believe in the avatar even when the avatar did not believe in himself. She was the pillar of their relationship holding them together with words of encouragement and wisdom that neither knew of.

For my review of the Netflix series, I feel the creators tried to water down the true character of Sokka, the lazy, sexist and carefree teenage boy from the Southerrn water tribe. Sokka waa the life of the trio group, always taking things for granted and falling in love with every pretty female he meets in any new town they visited.

For Aang, I feel they did a good job in trying to capture his laikadiasical attitude to being the Avatar at first but over time and a few episodes, Aang is oirtrayed as willing and ready to take up the responsibility of being the Avatar after much realization that the world and his friends need him to be more than an airbender.

I have only watched the first season of the action series and I'm earnestly anticipating the next seasons to see what the creators come up with and if there will be better improvements.

I would like for the comic and humourous parts of the original movie to be maintained cos that's how I remember thr original Avatar series.

All in all, I think the creators did great. The kid actors also did well even though I was expecting much more but kudos to Katara, who showed great improvement as the movie progressed.

My ratings for this movie is 7/10.

I leave below the trailer of the movie for your enjoyment.

Thank you all for reading and viewing.

What a review! This is even better than I can ever imagine. I guess you took your time to watch the series and give this powerful review. I love the fact that your rating was fair enough.. Atleast that's from your own angle. However, I am still not happy that the movie was kind of rushed.. It got to a point, I started wondering if I skipped an episode and that's not suppose to be.. Over all, like you rightly said, they did well but I think it wasn't enough. Perharps the season 2 will be better hopefully.

Kudos.

They tried despite their flaws because I know it's not easy producing a movie.

I'm also keeping my fingers crossed for season 2. Let's wait and see.

Happy new week.

The truth is that there are things to praise in this series because recreating everything from the animated series was not easy, but for me it was horrible to see how they changed many things, as you said Sokka is another, someone very distant from who we saw in the animated series, I loved the nonsense he always said, his bad jokes, I do not think I see the rest of the seasons, I much prefer the animation, a pleasure to read you.

Thank you as well for your feedback on the movie.

Happy new week.

hello... I recently tried to watch it because I saw that many people were excited, I saw the first chapter and then it was like "it could have been better" I'm not saying it's bad, just that it lacked something to hook me and keep watching it.

I'm going to wait for the general excitement for the series to die down and then I'll give it another chance.

a hug, good post

I have been staring at the movie on Netflix for some days now and I don´t know why I am not moved to watch it. I wouldn´t say I like watching Avatar Movie Joor 😂

You are right, I have mixed feelings with this remake, for one side it was great to see that Netflix did not ruin the source material but when it comes to the traits of some of the main characters it feels lacking. I hope the next seasons improve on that.
