My Latest Obsession.

Recently, I have gotten hooked on a new drug. Don't get scared, I'm not talking about cocaine, opium or those other hard and deadly drugs. The new drug I'm referring to is related to IP dramas, most especially Chinese related dramas on youtube.

It began like a joke. I was already hooked to k-dramas and enjoying myself watching a few good ones like when the phone rings, city Hunter, Trauma code, what happened to secretary Kim and many others but this year, the #Youtube algorithm stated bringing Chinese dramas my way and in a bid to learn and understand some of the Chinese culture, I clicked on a drama and started watching.

Since I began watching these Chinese dramas,I must say that I have become hooked. I cannot seem to stop. The Chinese culture is really one of interest. Although there are some aspects that I frown at but the good aspects of their culture shine all the more.

Amongst these IP dramas, I especially love watching the ones that pertain to ancient dynasties and royal life. I feel like these ones really portray the culture of the Chinese people greatly.

The costumes used in the movies are also very attractive and eye-catching especially the one worn by the empress, princesses or queens. They are simply fascinating.

Then, there is the thing about their storyline and plot which always amazes me. There plots usually revolves around cheating husbands or wives, re-birth, time traveling and revenge. I really like the concept of time traveling a lot because it is something I desire to happen to me but I know that such a desire is unrealistic.

But it's good watching these actors play it out so simply that it is almost believable. Even as I type this post, I had to pause one of the movies I was watching, to share my thoughts.

The only odd thing is that, I can't seem to find the names of the drama. When the #Youtube algorithm brings up these videos to my feed, I only see long sentences as titles and I guess the idea is to give and appetizer of what the drama will show case and somehow it works as it whets my appetite to watch the movie.

Another aspect of the IP dramas that I enjoy watching are the ones with fairies, demons, immortals and gods. You will see them flying from roof top to roof top displaying their skills in the movie. Even though I know that those are just stunts, I still find them appealing to watch.

Let me pen down here s that I can return to watching my Chinese drama 😁.
