The Lion of Judah. One heck of a funny movie.... Cinetvcontest #143

When in danger, it is wise to call for help from someone who is capable of helping you out of that danger or trouble. No one calls on the weak to save them out of danger but this is just what was displayed in this movie I am about to review.

The movie is titled The lion of Judah and it is a 2011 animated Christian comedy film that everyone will enjoy watching.

Synopsis

A young sheep called Judah who has been seeking freedom, was brought into a stable filled with other animals. In a bid to escape and also free the other animals in the stable, he was recaptured again and this time he was boxed and shipped to Jerusalem.

The other animals made a head count and found that their friend Drake, a talkative rooster was also missing. A little birdie came to tell them that Drake was inside the box with Judah and they were heading to Jerusalem for the annual sacrifice.

The other animals comprising of *a horse, a mouse, a cow, a donkey who had lived sheltered lives, summoned courage and decided to go save their friend and in the process, save Judah as well but the reverse became the case. They encountered a lot of hurdles and challenges but they pulled through and later, the animals were saved by the king who laid down his life.

I admire the courage of the animals who had never ventured into the wild before Drake got missing, rallying round to go look for them irrespective of any imminent danger on the way from Bethlehem to Jerusalem.

The star of the show definitely goes to Drake the rooster. He made the movie so much fun with his talkative nature. He made Judah's journey to Jerusalem a long and tiring one.

Despite the fact that no animal liked his consistent talkings, they understood that he was a loyal friend and that was what motivated them to go all out for his rescue.

I loved the fact that animals were in their elements. When the pig talks, you know that's a pig and when the cow speaks you know that it was the cow that spoke. There was no smooth language engineering and that was alright with me.

I can say that the most hilarious part of the movie was inside the crate where Judah and Drake were boxed up. Drake actually thought he was ambidextrous whereas he was claustrophobic. He kept talking incessantly and nagging like a frustrated house wife.

If you are looking for action, this movie might not be that but it still is an enjoyable movie with lots of lessons to learn from. One good thing about funny Comedy movies is that they are suitable for different ages and that's exactly what this movie represents.

Judah's thought of himself as a lion is also a wise lesson that what we think matters. Despite being a weak little lamb, he always introduced himself as a lion to any animal he met, plus his courage was contagious. He knew how to stir up a crowd.

It is also funny how animals that should be strong were exhibiting such weakness. A horse was so scared that he was terrified of a pigeon, lol. The pigeons in the movie were like a mafia sect, controlling the deals in the city.

The soundtracks for this movie were also very nice as it evoked the right emotions where needed as you watched.
