Encontré en Netflix una Thriller gótico de los que tanto me gustan. Estas películas trae gratos recuerdos. Mi padre, un empedernido lector, gustaba mucho de este género y oralmente nos contaba este tipo de historias.

Recuerdo ese toque de misterio impregnado en su voz mientras relataba o leía en voz alta. Creo que estas estrategias de mi padre me engancharon aún más con el tema de la lectura y escritura.

El Trhiller gótico como les dije está en Netflix y se titula Los Crímenes de la Academia. La película está basada en el libro de Louis Bayard conocido en el mundo literario por sus novelas de intriga y misterio con contenido histórico.

I found on Netflix a Gothic Thriller of the kind I like so much. These movies bring back fond memories. My father, an inveterate reader, liked this genre a lot and orally told us this kind of stories.

I remember that touch of mystery permeating his voice as he told or read aloud. I think these strategies of my father's got me even more hooked on the subject of reading and writing.

The Gothic Thriller as I told you is on Netflix and is titled The Crimes of the Academy. The movie is based on the book by Louis Bayard known in the literary world for his novels of intrigue and mystery with historical content.

Este género de contenido histórico me atrae por la manera como resuelven los casos. Esa actitud que parece pasiva de los detectives inyectan drama e intriga a las obras. Se cree que no saben nada y realmente lo saben todo.

Es Los Crímenes de la Academia el Augustus Landor es un detective retirado con problemas de alcohol. Sin embargo, es reconocido por sus investigaciones y por lo tanto, fue contratado por militares luego de aparecer el cuerpo de un hombre amarrado con una soga al cuello.

Todo parece indicar que se trataba de un suicidio, lo que no se explica es, cómo luego de tener el cuerpo de aquel militar en la morgue, le extraen el corazón. Un misterio para resolver y para ello llega el detective Augustus Landor.

This genre of historical content attracts me because of the way they solve the cases. That seemingly passive attitude of the detectives injects drama and intrigue into the works. They think they know nothing and they really know everything.

In The Crimes of the Academy Augustus Landor is a retired detective with an alcohol problem. However, he is recognized for his investigations and therefore, he was hired by the military after the body of a man appears tied with a rope around his neck.

Everything seems to indicate that it was a suicide, what is not explained is, how after having the body of that military man in the morgue, they extract his heart. A mystery to be solved and detective Augustus Landor arrives to solve it.

Este personaje lo representa el actor británico Christian Bale, ganador de Globo de Oro, un excelente actor quien encarna muy bien su papel en tan magistral obra. Su aspecto parco le da ese toque de misterio que todos esperábamos. Además, demuestra ser muy inteligente mientras trata de resolver el crimen.

Mientras el médico forense dictamina una cosa, el detective Landor agrega otras para poner en duda las causas de aquella primera muerte.

Mientras tanto, dentro de la Academia se mantiene tensión, todos están a la expectativa por la muerte inesperada del militar. Al principio se mantiene tensión pero a la vez calma, pero progresivamente los ánimos cambian debido a la aparición del cuerpo de un segundo cadete.

This character is played by the British actor Christian Bale, Golden Globe winner, an excellent actor who embodies his role very well in such a masterful play. His parsimonious appearance gives him that touch of mystery that we all expected. He also proves to be very intelligent as he tries to solve the crime.

While the forensic doctor dictates one thing, the detective Landor adds others to cast doubt on the causes of that first death.

Meanwhile, inside the Academy tension is maintained, everyone is in expectation of the unexpected death of the soldier. At the beginning there is tension but at the same time calm, but gradually the mood changes due to the appearance of the body of a second cadet.

¿Aún no se resuelve el primer caso y aparece otro? Ahora si comienzan las preocupaciones, algo pasa en la Academia y hay que descubrirlo. Para ello, el detective Landor solicita el apoyo de una persona de confianza para infiltrarlo entre los militares y empezar a recolectar evidencias.

Aparece el poeta Allan Poe entre uno de los candidatos. Es elegido por sus características, es otro cadete que forma parte de la academia, muy visual, astuto e interesado en el caso. Por todo lo que hasta el momento se había revelado todo apunta a que los asesinatos podría estar relacionado con rituales de magia negra.

No quiero terminar dando todos los detalles de este film aunque confieso que me encantaría ja,ja,ja. Lo más sorprendente es el giro que da esta película al final, son muchas cosas confusas pero a la vez lógicas a mi modo de ver. Todos los crímenes tienen su razón de ser aunque suene algo crudo.

The first case is still unsolved and another one appears? Now the worries begin, something is going on at the Academy and it must be discovered. To do this, the detective Landor requests the support of a trusted person to infiltrate the military and start collecting evidence.

The poet Allan Poe appears among the candidates. He is chosen for his characteristics, he is another cadet who is part of the academy, very visual, astute and interested in the case. From everything that has been revealed so far, everything points to the fact that the murders could be related to black magic rituals.

I don't want to finish giving all the details of this film although I confess that I would love to ha,ha,ha,ha. The most surprising thing is the twist that this film gives at the end, there are many confusing things but at the same time logical in my opinion. All crimes have a reason to be even if it sounds a bit crude.

Algo pasó, algo hizo enfurecer al asesino y alguna razón lo llevó a cometerlos. Pero, ¿cuántos crímenes fueron? ¿Quién los mató? ¿Fue uno o varios crímenes a la vez? ¿Quién descubre realmente los casos?
