The Spider's Head. I give six points to this movie starring Chris Hemsworth who plays the role of Steve Abnesti, a scientist of a pharmaceutical chain who decides to do an experiment with some people deprived of their freedom.

I do not know how Dr. Steve Abnesti manages to negotiate with the authorities to let him guard the inmates while he does his experiment. It is barely mentioned in the plot that he receives this "benefit " in order to get the cooperation of each of them.

Dr. Steve Abnesti makes the detainees believe that they are in a better place compared to the prison where they really should be. His argument is supported by the comforts he provides to sleep, eat, and do their routine activities to each inmate. Obviously, everything has a purpose, each one of them must submit to the pharmacist's experiment.

But what is the experiment? Dr. Steve Abnesti experiments with a series of stimulants or specific drugs to manage and control people's emotions. Each dose is identified with a nomenclature, they are placed in a small box and in turn are attached to the patient's lower back, the doses are manipulated through an application through the phone.

There are a total of five or six doses for each patient, each one identified with a nomenclature as I said before and a color. Each stimulant has a function, the effects can generate laughter, sexual attraction, even uncontainable terror.

My opinion

What I can understand in this plot is that it deals with a real issue. The genre of the movie is science fiction but, really, AI continues to advance by leaps and bounds and this topic related to emotions may be in the sights of scientists and researchers.

Obviously, not with such macabre purposes as those of Dr. Abnesti, not with the ambition of this unscrupulous character who is not interested in people but in his own ego. Manipulating the feelings of others as if they did not matter made this Dr. Abnesti lose his mind.

I was struck by a phrase mentioned by the protagonist while fulfilling the project in a field study. This phrase was curious to me but not to my husband who watched the movie with me.

For him, the message is simple, a Dr. who is obsessed with managing emotions but especially with emphasizing the dose of love. Still, I was curious about the following sentence.

Jeff, the protagonist of the film, was taken blindfolded to a place from where he could only see the chimney of an industry spewing smoke. But, when they apply the dose of N-40, (dose of love), he sees a multicolored environment alluding to some beautiful flowers. At that moment he says:

The flowers didn't grow, they sculpted them....

I understood from that first sentence that it was a metaphor. The flowers did not grow, love did not grow; they sculpted them, love was manipulated.

I'm sticking with that idea. Hopefully other people have seen this movie and will comment. I think the ending leaves a lot to be desired and for this reason I give it a six.

La cabeza de la araña. Doy seis puntos a esta película protagonizada por Chris Hemsworth quien hace el papel de Steve Abnesti, un científico de una cadena farmacéutica quien decide hacer un experimento con unas personas privadas de libertad.

No sé como el Dr. Steve Abnesti consigue negociar con la autoridades para que le dejen custodiar a los reos mientras él hace su experimento. Apenas se menciona en la trama que recibe ese "beneficio" con la finalidad de conseguir la colaboración de parte de cada uno de ellos.

El Dr. Steve Abnesti hace creer a los detenidos que están en un mejor lugar en comparación con la cárcel donde realmente debían estar. Su argumento lo sostiene con las comodidades que les brinda para dormir, comer, y hacer sus actividades rutinarias a cada reo Obviamente, todo tiene una finalidad, cada uno de ellos debe someterse al experimento del farmacéutico.

¿Pero, cuál es el experimento? El Dr. Steve Abnesti experimenta con una serie de estimulantes o drogas específica para manejar y controlar las emociones de las personas. Cada dosis esta identificada con una nomenclatura, son colocadas en una cajita y a su vez son adheridas ah h paciente en su espalda baja, las dosis son manipuladas a través de una aplicación a través del teléfono.

Son en total cinco o seis dosis para cada paciente, cada una identificada con una nomenclatura como dije anteriormente y un color. Cada estimulante tiene una función, los efectos puede. generar risa, atracción sexual, hasta terror incontenible.

Mi opinión

Lo que puedo entender en esta trama es que se trata de un tema real. El género de la película es ciencia ficción pero, realmente la IA sigue avanzando a pasos agigantados y este tema relacionado con las emociones puede estar en la mira de los científicos e investigadores.

Obviamente, no con fines tan macabros como los del Dr. Abnesti, no con la ambición de este personaje sin escrúpulos a quién no le interesan las personas sino su propio ego. Manipular los sentimientos de los demás como si no importara le hizo perder la cabeza a este Dr.

Me llamó la atención una frase mencionada por el protagonista mientras cumplía con el proyecto en un estudio de campo. Esta frase fue curiosa para mí más no para mi esposo quien vió la película conmigo.

Para él, el mensaje es simple, un Dr. que se obsesiona por manejar las emociones pero sobre todo en poner énfasis en la dosis del amor. Aún así me generó curiosidad la siguiente frase.

Jeff, el protagonista de la película, fue trasladado con los ojos vendados a un lugar desde donde solo se veía la chimenea de una industria expulsando humo. Pero, cuando aplican la dosis del N-40 , (dosis del amor), ve un ambiente multicolor haciendo alusión a unas flores hermosas. En ese momento dice:

Las flores no crecieron, las esculpieron....

Entendí desde esa primera frase que se trataba de una metáfora. Las flores no creciero, el amor no creció; las esculpieron, el amor lo manipularon.

Me quedo con esa idea. Ojalá otras personas hayan visto esta película y comenten. Creo que el final deja mucho que desear por esta razón le otorgo un seis.
