Hello everyone your welcome to my blog today ❤️

The movie oloture is a beautiful Nigerian movie that dose more than just entertaining. It tells a very painful story about prostitution, exploitations and human trafficking. Poor young women from poor backgrounds struggle to make a better life for themselves.

In this story we see a young Nigerian journalist who in the quest to investigate a notorious prostitution and trafficking gang has to go undercover as one of them. The movie takes a very unpleasant turn as she is now put in a situation where she is now fighting for survival.

Something about this movie stood out for me, the movie wasn't giving off glamorous life style . It clearly showed the hopelessness fear and manipulation the women experienced while being trapped in the brutal trafficking system.

The stories behind some Japa plans this days needs to be investigated, imagine young girls who are promised a better with high hopes, as they struggle to gather money to pay for their transportation, only to be faced with the sad reality that they just jumped. That's a dangerous reality people over look.

The main actor in Oloture is Sharon Ooja, her performance was very good and entertaining, she was the one in the most vulnerable situation .The other actors in the movie played important roles. Like Omowummi Dada, her role was really emotional. The emotional part of the movie is explained more as the girls reveal different life situations that brought them to the trafficking gang.

Some scenes in the movie had dark and tensed feeling, which works hand in hand with the nature of the movie. This is because the seriousness of the movie needs to be communicated well to the audience showing of the intensity of human trafficking rather than mere entertainment.

Desperation is a very bad thing, what lead most of the girls into the trap is their desperation to live the glamorous life style. Most of the women were promised better opportunities, jobs and good life style, only to discover they were decived, some of them didn't even inform their family of where they are going. This is a very important lesson not to trusts anyone who comes with better opportunities abroad without proper investigation.

I was one of the many people who awaited the second part of this movie, because honestly it didn't end the way I wanted. Well the second part was released in 2024, the struggle continues as she is still held up with the other girls as they are being transported to Europe.

This is not just a movie for it is social documentary about exploitation, manipulation, human trafficking and prostitution. It also exposes illegal migration. The dangers of desperation and greed in our youths.

To wrap it up Oloture is a very painful movie and very disturbing. It tells stories people prefer not to talk about and it shows the fact that woman are mostly vulnerable, drawing attention to the pain women go through behind the scenes.
Oloture is a very good educational and reflectional movie.
