CineTV Contest: My favorite soundtracks
Hello, internet people! All right? Today I want to participate in this Cine Tv contest and I want to talk about every piece of music that inspired me on the big screen.
¡Hola, gente de internet! ¿Todo bien? Hoy quiero participar en este concurso de Cine Tv y quiero hablar de cada pieza musical que me inspiró en la gran pantalla.
I'll start by talking about one of my favorites. The lullaby of the fauns. In Narnia the lion, the witch and the closet, Lucy Penvensie visits her friend Mr. Tummus and he tells her some stories of when Narnia had four seasons, out of nowhere he mentions the music the fauns used to play and asks Lucy if she wants to hear a piece to which the girl nods. As Mr. Tummus plays, Lucy gradually falls asleep only to wake up hours later and learn that she will be kidnapped by the faun.
Empezaré por hablar de una de mis preferidas. La tonada de cuna de los faunos. En Narnia el león, la bruja y el armario, Lucy Penvensie visita a su amigo el señor Tummus y este le relata algunas historias de cuando Narnia tenía cuatro estaciones, de la nada menciona la música que solían tocar los faunos y le pregunta a Lucy si quiere oir una pieza a lo que la niña asiente. Conforme el señor Tummus va tocando, Lucy poco a poco se queda dormida solo para despertar horas después y enterarse de que será secuestrada por el fauno.
The piece is as beautiful as it is enigmatic and its composition is perfect for the scene. The intro is developed with flute, but as it progresses other instruments are added to the melody, applying a constant crescendo until the climax where it ends abruptly. In the scene we see how Tummus plays the flute to lull Lucy to sleep with the melody and make it easier to kidnap her, so we hear the flute's melody (the pure melody of the flute is what Lucy would be hearing all the time) and little by little the other instruments are added to put us in tension as it is obvious that something will happen and indeed it does, at the climax, Aslan appears in the fire as a warning to Tummus and that's what makes the piece of music form a link between the stillness of the initial melody and the climax, that's why I love it and it's on this island.
La pieza es tan preciosa como enigmática y su composición es perfecta para la escena. el intro se desarrolla con flauta, pero a medida que avanza otros instrumentos se van sumando a la melodía, aplicando un crescendo constante hasta el clímax donde termina abruptamente. En la escena vemos como Tummus toca la flauta para dormir a Lucy con la melodía y sea más fácil secuestrarla, así que escuchamos la sueva melodía de la flauta (la melodía pura de la flauta es lo que estaría oyendo Lucy todo el tiempo) poco a poco se van sumando los demás instrumentos para ponernos en tensión ya que es obvio que ocurrirá algo y en efecto, al climax, aparece Aslan en el fuego como una advertencia para Tummus y eso es lo que hace la pieza musical formar un nexo entre la quietud de la melodía inicial y el clímax, es por eso que me encanta y está en esta isla.
With this soundtrack I will not extend too much since my appreciation was expressed in the review of this movie. The soundtrack of The Babadook is amazingly creepy, it is not only composed by music as such but also with random chorus sounds and music box music, its composition is tremendously good and balanced and accentuates the scenes of suspense and terror. There is no specific piece, I like it equally.
Con esta banda sonora no me extenderé demasiado ya que mi apreciación la expresé en la review de esta película. La banda sonora de El Babadook es asombrosamente espeluznante, no solamente está compuesta por música como tal sino también con sonidos random coros y música de cajas musicales, su composición es tremendamente buena y equilibrada y acentúa las escenas de suspenso y terror. No hay una pieza en específico, me gusta por igual.
I'm not going to get into a debate about whether Tiny Tim was a good singer or not (personally I hate his voice) what I will say is that including Tiptoe through the tulips in Insidious was a tremendous success. The voice in falcete and with too much vibrato of Tiny Tim are perfect for a horror movie, although the music and the lyrics are quite cheerful, let's say that they don't combine exactly well in a horror movie, but the nexus that makes one thing and the other combine is the voice of the singer that is quite "strange" and even sounds "sinister".
No voy a entrar en un debate de si Tiny Tim era buen cantante o no (en lo personal detesto su voz) lo que si es que incluir Tiptoe through the tulips en Insidious fue un acierto tremendo. La voz en falcete y con demasiado vibrato de Tiny Tim son perfectas para una película de terror, aunque la música y la letra sean bastante alegres, digamos que no combinan precisamente bien en una película de terror, pero el nexo que hace que una cosa y la otra compaginen es la voz del cantante que es bastante "extraña" e incluso suena "siniestra"
I close my list with a flourish, this piece composed by Nicholas Hooper is sublime. It is part of the Ost of Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince and it is part of a deleted scene (a pity) however I put it here because even being from a deleted scene it remains as part of the soundtrack. The Toad Choir sings this piece titled In Noctem (In the Night) setting the prelude to Dumbledore's death, it is just before everyone's lives change especially for Harry, Draco and Snape.
Cierro mi lista con broche de oro, esta pieza compuesta por Nicholas Hooper es sublime. Es parte del Ost de Harry Potter Y el príncipe mestizo y es parte de una escena eliminada (una pena) sin embargo la coloqué aquí porque aún siendo de una escena eliminada permanece como parte de la banda sonora. El coro de los sapos canta esta pieza titulada In Noctem (En la noche) ambientando el preludio de la muerte de Dumbledore, es justo antes de que las vidas de todos cambien sobre todo para Harry, Draco y Snape.
The different scenes... Snape thinking in front of the window, Draco getting out of bed preparing to doom his life, the sky suddenly darkening and an approaching storm give strength to the piece and the lyrics of the piece are reflected in the story. The combination of English and Latin in the lyrics besides making the piece impressive, reminds of the connection between the magical world and this language and finally the sublime voices of the Hogwarts students make a whole for this piece.
Las diferentes escenas... Snape pensando frente a la ventana, Draco levantándose de la cama preparándose para condenar su vida, el cielo oscureciéndose de pronto y una tormenta que se acerca le dan fuerza a la pieza y la letra de la pieza se refleja en la historia. La combinación de inglés y latín en la letra además de hacer que la pieza sea impresionante, recuerda a la conexión entre el mundo mágico y esta lengua y finalmente las voces sublimes de los alumnos de Hogwarts hacen un todo para esta pieza.
When I heard this piece the first time I had to look for the deleted scene where it appeared (it was obvious that it was from a deleted scene since as a Potterhead I had of course seen the movie and it didn't appear there) so I came across the scene and In Noctem took on more meaning. It conveys mystery, nostalgia, and deep pain, it's pure magic.
Cuando oí esta pieza la primera vez tuve que buscar la escena eliminada donde aparecía (era obvio que era de una escena eliminada ya que como Potterhead que soy claro que había visto la película y ahí no aparecía) así que me encontré con la escena y In Noctem tomó más significado. Transmite misterio, nostalgia, y profundo dolor, es magia pura.
