Have you seen Brazil Avenue? (ENG/SPA)
To be honest, revenge is never a good thing, but... Who hasn't enjoyed a revenge story and enjoyed it precisely because it's fiction? It may sound a bit hypocritical but I think we've all been there. Avenida Brasil is an excellent Brazilian Soap Opera that has become one of my favourites and that I never get tired of watching, although I think its ending was a bit disappointing, it's not bad either and besides, the whole execution of the Soap Opera was masterful. That's right, people of the internet, today I bring you a review of Avenida Brasil.
La verdad, siendo honesta, la venganza nunca es buena pero... ¿Quién no ha disfrutado de una historia de venganza gozando precisamente porque es ficción? Puede sonar un poco hipócrita pero creo que todos hemos pasado por ello. Avenida Brasil es una telenovela brasileña excelsa que se ha convertido en una de mis preferidas y que no me canso de ver, aunque considero que su final fue un poco decepcionante, tampoco es malo y además, toda la ejecución de la telenovela fue magistral. Así es, gente de internet, hoy les traigo un análisis de Avenida Brasil.
Rita is a girl whose stepmother mistreats her when her father is not at home, this woman, Carmen Lucia, better known as Carminha, cheats on Rita's father with a man called Maxwell, and also plans to steal all her husband's savings to elope with this man. Rita discovers his plans and runs to warn her father who pretends not to believe her, but later leaves the bank with the package with the "money" and as Rita said, he was mugged. Disappointed, Rita's father sends her to hide the real money, telling her that he always believed her, but that he had to do the test and later goes to confront Carminha, in the discussion he falls down some stairs, so being disoriented and badly injured he is run over by Jorge Tifón, a famous footballer.
Rita es una niña cuya madrastra la maltrata cuando su padre no se encuentra en casa, esta mujer, Carmen Lucía, mejor conocida como Carminha, engaña al padre de Rita con un hombre llamado Maxwell, y además planea robar todos los ahorros de su marido para fugarse con este hombre. In short, Rita's father is killed, the girl is orphaned and left in the hands of her stepmother who tricks her in order to steal the money Rita has hidden, and abandons her in a rubbish dump where the people who collect materials live and with her lover they plan for Carmiha to manipulate and seduce Tifón (that is the footballer's nickname) and that is how she becomes a millionaire woman overnight while her lover becomes Tifón's brother-in-law and Rita is adopted by a wealthy Argentinian couple and she grows up in that country and becomes a chef who also has a boyfriend and a fruitful restaurant, However, Rita never forgot what her stepmother did and simply waited patiently for the right moment to return to Brazil and plan her revenge.
En resumen, el padre de Rita resulta muerto, la niña queda huérfana y en manos de su madrastra que la engaña para robarle el dinero que Rita escondió, y la abandona en un basurero donde vive la gente que recolecta materiales y con su amante planean que Carmiha manipule y seduzca a Tifón (ese es el apodo del futbolista) y es así como se vuelve una mujer millonaria de la noche a la mañana mientras su amante se convierte en el cuñado de Tifón y a Rita la adopta un matrimonio argentino de mucho dinero y ella crece en ese país y se convierte en chef quien además tiene un novio y un restaurante fructífero, sin embargo, Rita nunca olvidó lo que su madrastra hizo y simplemente esperó pacientemente hasta el momento idóneo para volver a Brasil y planificar su venganza
Where to start? I don't know, when almost everything in an audiovisual work is excellent you don't know where to start. The story is amazing and so is the structure and development, the cinematography is beautiful, full of subjective and aerial shots that make the most of the beauty of Rio de Janeiro.
¿Por dónde empezar? No sé, cuando casi todo en un obra audiovisual es excelente no sabes por donde comenzar. La historia es asombrosa y la estructura y el desarrollo también, la fotografía es hermosa, cargada de planos subjetivos y aéreos que le sacan provecho a la belleza de Río de Janeiro.
But without a doubt, what makes the soap opera stand out are its actors, all of whom are top notch. I think I'll talk in part about my favourite characters and the work of the actors who played them. Starting on the "good guys" side, the first will be Jorge Tifón:
Pero sin lugar a dudas, lo que destaca de la telenovela son sus actores, todos de primer nivel. Creo que esta en parte hablaré de mis personajes preferidos y el trabajo de los actores que los interpretaron. Empezando por el lado de "los buenos" el primero será Jorge Tifón:
Tifón is a lovely, noble and very familiar man. Far from the mansion he owns (which by the way is not in the south of the city (the rich area) but in the neighbourhood where he grew up, "El Divino") Tifón does not like to show off, he is always ready to help and is very naive, which made him easy prey for Carminha.
Tifón es un hombre adorable, noble, amoroso y muy familiar. lejos de la mansión que posee (que dicho sea de paso no está en el sur de la ciudad (la zona rica) sino en el barrio donde él creció, "El Divino") a Tifón no le gusta ostentar, está siempre dispuesto a ayudar y es muy ingenuo, lo que le hizo ser presa fácil de Carminha.
Murilio Benicio does an excellent job, his performance surprised me, especially when Tifón finds out about Carminha's tricks and gets her out of his life, Mauricio makes a display of his skills, turning the naive and adorable Tifón into a disappointed man, tired of lies and abuse. I'll leave the scene for you to enjoy, as I did, his work.
Murilio Benicio hace un excelente trabajo, su actuación me sorprendió, sobre todo cuando Tifón se entera de las tretas de Carminha y la saca de su vida, Mauricio hace un despliegue de sus habilidades, convirtiendo al ingenuo y adorable Tifón en un hombre decepcionado, cansado de mentiras y abusos. Les dejaré la escena para que como yo, gocen de su trabajo.
My other favourite character is Rita, or "Nina" as her adoptive parents called her. While we know she is a good person, she is so full of hate that we can consider her an anti-hero, every one of her scenes, however silly, is worth watching, but Devora Falabella displays her acting skills in her scenes with Carminha:
Mi otro personaje preferido es Rita, o "Nina" como la llamaron sus padres adoptivos. Si bien sabemos que es una buena persona, está tan llena de odio que la podemos considerar una antihéroe, cada una de sus escenas por más tonta que sea vale la pena ver, pero de Devora Falabella despliega sus habilidades actorales en sus escenas con Carminha:
And if we talk about these two characters... What do the scenes have in common? Yes, they have Carminha, one of the best villains I've ever seen, if not the best, full stop. She is manipulative, cruel, arrogant, selfish, calculating and greedy, for her there are no limits when it comes to getting what she wants and she is also quite arrogant. Adriana Esteves plays her in such a masterful way that she honestly made the character her own, we can't imagine a different Carminha, she is a difficult villain to play because she has too many nuances and also, she has to do a performance within a performance, because Carminha, being so manipulative, pretends to be a charitable, good and noble soul, and her expressions when she pretends, when she cries to manipulate or when she smiles to please her relatives are excellent, let's put it this way, Carminha is an excellent actress and Adriana had to play her. I'll leave you with her best scenes:
Y si hablamos de estos dos personajes...¿Qué tiene en común las escenas? sí, tienen a Carminha, una de las mejores villanas que he visto, si no es que es la mejor y punto. Ella es manipuladora, cruel, arrogante, egoísta, calculadora y avariciosa, para ella no hay limites cuando se trata de alcanzar lo que quiere y también es bastante soberbia. Adriana Esteves la interpreta de una forma tan magistral que sinceramente hizo suyo al personaje, no nos imaginamos a una Carminha diferente, es una villana difícil de interpretar porque tiene demasiados matices y además, tiene que hacer una actuación dentro de una actuación, ya que Carminha al ser tan manipuladora, finge ser un alma caritativa, buena y noble, y sus expresiones cuando finge, cuando llora para manipular o cuando sonríe para agradara a sus familiares son excelsas, simplifiquémoslo así, Carminha es una excelente actriz y Adriana tuvo que interpretarla. There are other quite striking and funny plots, in the soap opera there is romance, revenge, action, comedy ... it is very well enriched and its dynamism is exquisite.
También hay otras tramas bastante llamativas y graciosas, en la telenovela hay romance, venganza, acción, comedia... está muy bien enriquecida y su dinamismo es exquisito.

Yo, siempre disfruto de las películas de venganza, creo que he escuchado antes de esta telenovela, pero no recuerdo haber visto de ella ni siquiera una propaganda, aunque la describes con una trama interesante y que vale la pena ver.
La verdad no te arrepentirías, es genial y más que todo por las actuaciones, es increíble
La verdad no soy fan de las telenovelas, quizás algunas las he visto pero nunca en referencia a la venganza, de hecho, me agrada ver ese tipo de filmes ya que expresa un sentimiento muy humano (aunque lo neguemos), así que son muy disfrutables este tipo de historias, además, veo que posee en su trama incluido otros géneros como acción y hasta comedia, es un guion diverso pero que al parecer tiene un buen impacto.

Hola @bethyjade me encanto tu reseña, yo escuche de esta telenovela pero nunca me llamo la atención hasta hoy. así que la buscare y la veré.
Wau, esta novela la recuerdo mucho y sé que es bastante, dura son muchos dramas en uno y constantemente una pelea tras pelea. A mí me encantaba el personaje de Carminha, es que era una locura lo psicópata que era y lo bien que hacía el trabajo la actriz.
Y todo el papel de Rita y su viaje es bastante bonito.
