Let's talk about Matilda (ENG/SPA)
Hello internet people! Everything ok? Continuing with the movie talk, today it's the turn of one of my favourite comedy movies and it's the case of Matilda. Produced by TriStar Pictures and directed by Danny DeVito himself, Matilda tells the story of a little girl who, thanks to her great intelligence, unleashes and develops psychokinetic abilities to deal with her problems.
¡Hola gente de internet! ¿Todo bien? Siguiendo con la charla de películas hoy le toca el turno a una de mis películas de humor preferidas y es el caso de Matilda la cuál esta basada en el libro homónimo de Roald Dahl (un increíble autor británico por cierto). Producida por TriStar Pictures y dirigida por el propio Danny DeVito, Matilda cuenta la historia de una niña que gracias a su gran inteligencia libera y desarrolla habilidades psicoquinéticas para lidiar con sus problemas.
Matilda is born to irresponsible parents and because of this, she grows up, despite her young age, she becomes quite independent. Matilda's adventures begin when her father finally decides to enrol her in school and it's there that she meets her headmistress, Agatha Trunchbull.
Matilda nace de unos padres irresponsables y por ese hecho, al crecer, pese a su corta edad, se vuelve una niña bastante independiente. Las aventuras de Matilda comienzan cuando al fin su padre decide inscribirla en la escuela y es en ella donde la niña conoce a su directora, Tronchatoro
This woman suffers from infantophobia and is abusive and cruel to children, torturing them in various ways, one of the most famous being locking them in a dirty, damp cupboard with nails stuck in it, something like an improvised iron lady who doesn't allow the infants to lean against the walls or sit down. Thanks to her mistreatment, Matilda unleashes her powers of telekinesis and from then on practices to develop them as she thinks they could be useful later on.
Esta mujer padece de infantofobia y es abusiva y cruel con los niños, torturándolos de diversas formas, una de las más famosas es encerrarlos en un armario sucio y húmedo con clavos pegados, algo como una improvisada dama de hierro que no les permite a los infantes recostarse de las paredes o sentarse. Gracias a los maltratos de ésta, Matilda libera sus poderes de telequinesis y a partir de ahí practica para desarrollarlos ya que piensa que podrían ser de utilidad más adelante.
Miss Honey (Matilda's teacher and with whom she has quite an emotional attachment) tells Matilda on one occasion that the headmistress of the school is her aunt, her mother's half-sister, and that after her mother's death, Magnus (Miss Honey's father) asked Agatha to live with them so that she could help him look after his daughter, but shortly after that, he committed suicide, or so they say, and after that, she was mistreated by Agatha until she was able to move out because her aunt had taken over the Honey's property. Matilda tells her teacher that she doubts that Magnus committed suicide and Miss Honey agrees, suggesting that they both think that Agatha Trunchbull had something to do with his death.
La señorita Miel (la maestra de Matilda y con quién genera un apego emocional bastante grande) le cuenta a Matilda en una ocasión que la directora del colegio es su tía, hermanastra de su madre y que tras la muerte de ésta, Magnus (el padre de la señorita Miel) le pidió a Agatha que viviera con ellos para que le ayudase a cuidar a su hija, pero poco después de eso, él se suicidó o eso dijeron, y después de eso, ella recibió maltratos por parte de Agatha hasta que pudo irse a vivir aparte ya que su tía se había apoderado de los bienes de los Miel. Matilda le dice a su maestra que duda que Magnus se haya suicidado y la señorita Miel concuerda, dejando entrever que ambas piensan que Agatha Tronchatoro tuvo que ver en esa muerte.
Because of this tragic story and because she has mastered her powers, Matilda decides to go to her headmistress's house to scare her into believing that the spirit of Magnus Honey is haunting her so that she will return her possessions to her daughter. In the process, Matilda leaves her headband in the branches of a tree, which then flies with the wind to Tronchbull as she was fleeing the house. So the next day Tronchbull stalks Miss Honey's entire class looking for the culprit (whom she suspects to be Matilda). Matilda, however, had drawn up a contingency plan and so, moving blinds, tables, chairs and so on, with the help of her powers, she also writes a threatening message on the blackboard:
Debido a esta trágica historia y a que ya domina sus poderes, Matilda decide ir a la casa de su directora para asustarla y que creyera que el espíritu de Magnus Miel estaba asechándola para que le devolviera sus bienes a su hija. En el proceso, Matilda deja su cinta para el cabello en unas ramas de un árbol que luego vuela con el viento hasta Tronchatoro cuando ésta huía de la casa. Así pues el día siguiente asecha a la clase entera de la señorita Miel buscando al culpable (que sospecha que es Matilda) esta sin embargo había trazado un plan de contingencia y es así como moviendo persianas, mesas sillas y demás, con ayuda de sus poderes, también escribe un mensaje amenazante en la pizarra:
"Agatha, soy Magnus, quiero que le devuelvas a mi borreguita su casa y su dinero y vete de este pueblo, si no lo haces te atraparé, como tú me atrapaste. Es una promesa"
Terrified to learn that Magnus' revenge is not unfounded, Agatha flees in terror, but not before being booed and humiliated by all the students fed up with her abuse. Finally, Matilda's family intends to flee the city because Harry's (Matilda's father) illegal business has been discovered. Matilda asks her parents to sign an adoption permit from the library for Miss Honey to be her new mother and the Wormwoods decide to sign it to at least do something good for their daughter after all, and so Matilda is left living in the old Honey House with her teacher and now mother, who has become the new headmistress of the school.
Aterrada por saber que la venganza de "Magnus" no es infundada, Agatha sale huyendo despavorida no sin antes ser abucheada y humillada por todos los alumnos hartos de sus abusos. Finalmente, la familia de Matilda pretende huir de la ciudad ya que el negocio ilegal de Harry (padre de Matilda) fue descubierto. La niña le solicita a sus padres que le firmen un permiso de adopción que sacó de la biblioteca para que la señorita Miel sea su nueva madre y los Wormwood deciden firmarlo para al menos hacer algo bueno por su hija después de todo, es así como Matilda queda viviendo en la antigua casa Miel junto con su maestra y ahora madre, convertida en la nueva directora del colegio.

Despite not having remarkable elements beyond the story, Matilda is one of those films that have marked generations of viewers and are so funny that it always generates the desire to see it again and again, its scenes of humour are very good, bringing memorable scenes like the following ones:
Pese a no tener elementos destacables mas allá de la historia, Matilda es una de esas películas que han marcado a generaciones de espectadores y resultan tan divertidas que siempre genera el querer verla una y otra vez, sus escenas de humor son muy buena, trayendo escenas memorable como las siguientes:

Undoubtedly one of the best films with top 10 performances and a wonderfully told story that promises plenty of laughs.
Sin lugar a dudas una de las mejores películas con actuaciones de 10 y una historia maravillosamente contada que augura muchas risas.

Its a terrorist act on American soil while some say its not real or Im a mental case. Many know its real. This is an ignored detrimental to humanity domestic and foreign threat. Ask informed soldiers in the American military what their oath is and tell them about the day you asked me why. Nobody has I guess. Maybe someone told ill informed soldiers they cant protect America from military leaders in control with ill intent. How do we protect locked up soldiers from telling the truth?

Matilda es una película muy divertida, pero con escenas algo tristes como cuando sus padres y su hermano la hacían menos. También la vida de la maestra Miel, muy solitaria hasta que adopta a Matilda. La parte cómica de la un toque especial el lado cruel del film.
Sí es cierto. Pero lo mejor es que tiene un final feliz
