NAUSICAÄ OF THE VALLEY OF THE WIND [Movie Review]
Hello Hello #Theanimerealm people, today I will share with you my opinion about a Ghibli Studios movie I saw a couple of days ago (and I must confess I didn't know about its existence, I found it checking Netflix content). I didn't have such high expectations when I saw it but certainly like all films from this studio it has a lot we can learn from. Many don't consider this film as one more of the Ghibli catalog because it was released a year before its foundation but the reality is that thanks to it they were able to found the studio, so in my opinion it is very important and should be considered as the mother of the following films 🤗.
Hola Hola gente de #Theanimerealm, hoy compartiré con ustedes mi opinión acerca de una película de los Estudios Ghibli que vi hace un par de días (y debo confesarles que yo no sabía de su existencia, la encontré revisando el contenido de Netflix). Yo no tenía tan altas expectativas cuando la vi pero ciertamente al igual que todas las películas de este estudio tiene mucho de lo que podemos aprender. Muchos no consideran a esta película como una más del catalogo de Ghibli porque fue lanzada un año antes de su fundación pero la realidad es que gracias a ella pudieron fundar el estudio, así que en mi opinión es muy importante y debería considerarse como la madre de las películas siguientes 🤗.
This movie is set in a post-apocalyptic future, after a terrible war known as "The Seven Days of Fire" destroyed and contaminated the environment, however a small community managed to survive (The Valley of the Wind) and have survived by searching for some resources in the Sea of Rot, which is actually a forest that is ironically contaminated, and in which certain giant creatures inhabit, but at a certain moment the inhabitants of the valley have conflicts when they suffer the invasion of the kingdoms Tolmekia and Pejite that intended to use a biological weapon to burn the rotting evil to get rid of the pollution, but a wise old woman of the valley says that this is not the best solution because it could be counterproductive, so the heroine of this story, Nausicaä is willing to do anything to defend what little is left of the environment.
Esta película está ambientada en un futuro post apocalíptico, luego de que una guerra terrible conocida como "Los Siete Días de Fuego" destruyera y contaminara el entorno, sin embargo una pequeña comunidad logró sobrevivir (El Valle del Viento) y han sobrevivido a base de buscar algunos recursos en el Mar de la putrefacción, lo cual es en realidad un bosque que está irónicamente contaminado, y en el cual habitan ciertas criaturas gigantes, pero en determinado momento los habitantes del valle tienen conflictos cuando sufren la invasión de los reinos Tolmekia y Pejite que pretendían usar un arma biológica para quemar el mal de putrefacción para deshacerse de la contaminación, pero una anciana sabia del valle asegura que esa no es la solución más indicada porque podría ser contraproducente, así que la heroína de esta historia, Nausicaä está dispuesta a todo por defender lo poco que ha quedado del entorno.
It is not surprising that this story, like the other Ghibli stories, tells us about the importance of the environment and especially nature, but at the same time it shows us the consequences of human greed and the impact it can generate to the detriment of humanity itself. Everything has a sense and a reason for being, the sea of rot, the insects, everything is there for a reason, the solution of the invaders is to burn the source of pollution but what kind of consequences could they bring? They choose an apparent easy solution without even researching it, while Nausicaa on the other hand has spent years studying the ecosystem carefully, which teaches us that the best solutions are not easy to achieve, they take time, effort and dedication but there is a lot of learning in the process.
No es de extrañar que esta historia, al igual que las demás de Ghibli nos hable de la importancia del entorno y sobre todo la naturaleza, pero al mismo tiempo nos muestra las consecuencias de la avaricia humana y el impacto que puede generar en detrimento de la propia humanidad como tal. Todo tiene un sentido y una razón de ser, el mar de la putrefacción, los insectos, todo está ahí por una razón, la solución de los invasores es quemar la fuente de la contaminación pero ¿Qué tipo de consecuencias podrían traer? Ellos eligen una aparente solución fácil sin siquiera investigar al respecto, mientras que Nausicaa por el contrario se ha dedicado durante años a estudiar el ecosistema cuidadosamente, lo cual nos enseña que las mejores soluciones no son fáciles de conseguir, toman tiempo, esfuerzo y dedicación pero hay mucho aprendizaje en el proceso.
It is a beautiful film that plays with several elements to create the perfect balance between the negative emotions that can generate the invasion of the valley of the wind, the pollution and the enthusiasm of Nausicaa, her love for the environment and her sense of belonging, all this is summarized in one word "hope", while we have hope there will be motivation and this is the engine that generates the most drastic and positive changes. Likewise I believe that the intention of the film is to show how destructive war can be and all that it can cause, while dialogue is conciliatory and great things can be obtained through it, war only brings loss and destruction.
Es una hermosa película que juega con varios elementos para crear el equilibrio perfecto entre las emociones negativas que te puede generar la invasión al valle del viento, la contaminación y el entusiasmo de Nausicaa, su amor por el entorno y su sentido de pertenencia, todo esto se resume en una sola palabra "esperanza", mientras tengamos esperanza existirá la motivación y este es el motor que genera los cambios más drásticos y positivos. Igualmente creo que la intención de la película es demostrar que tan destructiva puede ser la guerra y todo lo que puede causar, mientras que el diálogo es conciliador y se pueden obtener grandes cosas a través de él, la guerra solo trae pérdidas y destrucción.
