Parasite, Review (ENG/SPA)
Hello, Internet folks, how's it going? Today I want to bring you the winner of four Oscars: Best Picture, Best Director: Bong Joon-ho, Best Original Screenplay: Bong Joon-ho and Han Jin-won, and Best International Feature Film. Parasite, a social critique turned satire about the two poles of Korean society, is a film worth watching and analysing.

Let's start by talking about the title of the film ‘Parasite.’ At first, I thought the film had something to do with a pandemic, zombies, or something like that, but after watching the film, we can understand why it was given that name. Parasite is about a poor family and a rich family whose stories intersect in a particular way. The son of the poor family is helped by his friend to get a job as a substitute English tutor for the daughter of the rich family (the friend of the poor family's son is going to be out of the country). By falsifying documents and using his charisma, Ki-Woo manages to get the job.
Vamos a empezar hablando de el título de la película "Parásitos" de entrada pensaba que la película tenia que ver con una pandemia, zombies o algo asi, sin embargo, al ver el film podemos entender el porque de nombre. Parásitos trata de una familia pobre y una rica que cruzan historias de una forma particular, el hijo de la familia pobre es ayudado por su amigo para obtener el trabajo de suplente para darle clases de inglés a la hija de la familia rica (el amigo de hijo de la familia pobre se ausentaría del país) falsificando papeles y con mucho carisma, Ki-Woo logra obtener el trabajo
From there, Ki-Woo manages to get his sister hired as a worker in the house and then gets the family's driver fired so he can recommend his father. Later, they get rid of the housekeeper so that the mother of the family can take her place without the owners of the house knowing that they know each other, with the intention of taking advantage of the rich family as ‘parasites’. However, things do not end well at all.
A partir de ahí, Ki-Woo logra ingresar a la casa a su hermana como trabadora y después est logra hacer que despidan al chofer de la familia para recomendar a su papá y posteriormente se deshacen de la ama de llaves para que la madre de la familia ocupe su lugar sin que los dueños de la casa sepan que se conocen con toda la intención de aprovecharsede la familia rica como "parásitos" Sin embargo, las cosa no terminan para nada bien
I have to say that what stands out most in the film's story is its criticism of South Korea's economic/social polarisation (which has been explored in other series or films such as Boys over Flowers or Squid Game), a cycle that never ends: The rich despise the poor, which generates envy, resentment and hatred among the poor, and often triggers aggression (which has in fact happened in real life and in the film).
Tengo que decir que lo más plasmable o que resalta dentro de la historia de la película es la crítica a la polarización económica/social de Corea del Sur (el cual se ha explorado en otras series o peliculas como Boys over Flowers o El Juego del Calamar) un ciclo que no termina: Los ricos desprecian a los pobres, el hecho genera envidia, rencor y odio en los pobres y muchas veces esto trae detonantes de agreciones (que de hecho ha pasado en la vida real y en la película)
The way in which everything is narrated, with a touch of humour at times and such an exaggerated ending (I don't want to give any spoilers), makes it a very well-executed and structured satire. No wonder it won the Oscar for Best Screenplay; it really is incredible. The performances were also quite good and convincing, which helps with the film's air of mystery.
La forma en la que esta narrado todo con cierto humor en algunas ocasiones y con un final tan exagerado (no quiero dar spoilers) lo convierte en una sátira muy bien llevada y estructurada, no por menos ganó el Oscar a mejor guión y la verdad es increíble. Las actuaciones también fueron bastante buenas y convincentes, ayuda con los tintes de misterio que tiene la película
The photography is also quite good, the lighting and shadows are well crafted and the shots are very well done. There are some low-angle shots and other close-ups, especially in the scenes in the poor family's house, to obviously create this feeling of oppression and claustrophobia, in stark contrast to the scenes in the mansion, where the colour palette is light and the shots are wide. The truth is that it is made with great care.
La fotografía también es bastante buena, las luces y sombras estan bien trabajadas y los planos estan muy bien hechos, hay algunos contrapicados y otros cerrados sobre todo en las escenas en la casa de la familia pobre para obviamente generar esta sensación de agobio y claustrofobia, muy contrario a las escenas en la mansión donde la paleta de colores es clara y los planos abiertos. La verdad es que está hecho con mucho cuidado
In summary, I highly recommend it. It should be viewed with a critical eye and analysed thoroughly, as it encourages us to examine and delve deeper into the social criticism embedded within it, prompting us to reflect.
En resumen, es altamente recomendada por mi, hay que verla con ojo crítico y analizarla bastante ien,los detalles que nos hace analizar y profundizar sobre la critica social que hay impresa en ella y que nos hace reflexionar
