Although the effects of the classic films have aged terribly, the stories and the composition are very good

I actually think some of the effects are incredible here! The use of the bats is definitely quite an aged concept, but I think it added to the oddness of the story. A more mechanical look given they were just puppets flopping around in the air. But there's something more unsettling about that less natural look!
