I hated it haha in fact I thought "this is the result of James Wan being in the production and not in the direction" it's exactly the same as we saw in the new version of chucky, an android who misunderstands and misrepresents his duty and ends up killing everyone around the one who must be protected even the child in question, I don't feel it has anything innovative and it's even quite predictable precisely for the same reason. I'm too picky about suspense and horror because it's my favourite genre and that's why I don't like many of the current works

I'm surprised to hear this but can see your point. I mean it IS extremely obvious that the doll/robot is going to go rogue just by looking at the movie poster and seeing who made it :)
