Yamishibai (Review) ESP/ENG
Hello, hello, internet people! How are you? Today I'm going to talk to you about a Japanese animation that will probably make your hair stand on end. For those of you who don't know me, I love the horror genre, so finding this gem was great for me. It's a compilation of stories based on urban legends and folklore. The best part is that they're micro-stories that last no more than five minutes, so you could easily watch several episodes in an hour.
¡Hola Hola, gente de internet! ¿Cómo están? hoy les hablaré de una animación japonesa que probablemente les ponga los pelos de punta. Para los que no me conozcan a mi me encanta el genero terror, as+i que haber encontrado esta joya fue para mi algo genial. Se trata de una recopilación de historias basadas en leyendas urbanas y el folclore, lo mejor de todo es que son microhistorias que no duran más de cinco minutos, asi que facilmente podrías ver varia+os episodios en una hora.
Of course, some stories seem unfinished and leave you wanting to see more, but the aim of this series, beyond telling a specific story with a coherent narrative, is simply to generate terror, very similar to the analogue terror that the Japanese, and Asians in general, are so good at when it comes to making horror films and animations. Ahh, and speaking of animation, I love that this anime has a style very similar to kamishibai (which, incidentally, is also used in some scenes in Blue-Eyed Samurai), which consists of telling stories through still images or limited movements.
Claro que algunas historias parecen inconclusas y te dejan con la sensación de querer seguir viendo más, pero el objetivo de esta serie, más allá de contarte una historia concreta, con una narrativa coherente, es simplemente generar terror, muy parecido al terror análogico en el que precisamente los japoneses, y los asiáticos en general son tan buenos a la hora de hacer películas y animaciones de terror. Ahh y hablando precisamente de animación,me encanta que este anime maneja un estilo muy parecido al kamishibai (que por cierto también lo tienen algunas escenas de Samurai de ojos azules) elcuál consiste en contar historias a través de imágenes fijas o movimientos limitados
Initially, we see the narrator telling stories to the audience. Each story has an unsettling aura and a disturbing ending, and since they are not related to each other and do not follow a linear narrative, you can watch any episode at random. One of my favourites is about a man who went on holiday to a remote village, but suddenly wakes up in a hospital where a doctor tells him that he had slipped in the mountains, but that he only needed one more day of rest because he would be discharged the next day. However, three strange patients were looking at him oddly while muttering things, but he managed to hear them say, ‘He can't leave.’ The next day, when the patient was ready to leave, he got into a taxi, but when he looked back, he noticed that the three men were on the roof of the hospital making some strange movements, similar to bows. The man thought that maybe those men were celebrating the fact that he could leave the hospital, but when the taxi driver saw what was happening in the rear-view mirror, he told him with a frightened look that what those men were doing was a ritual called ‘The Cruel Bow’ so that he could not leave that town alive.
Inicialmente vemos al narrador y este va contando las historias a la audiencia. Cada historia tiene un aura inquietante y un final perturbador, y como no están relacionados entre sí ni mantienen una narrativa lineal, entonces puedes ver cualquier episodio al azar. Uno de mis favoritos es la de un hombre que se fue a vacacionar en un pueblo remoto, pero de pronto despierta en un hospital donde un médico le dice que él se había resbalado por las montañas, pero que solo le faltaba un día de reposo porque al día siguiente le darían el alta, sin embargo tres pacientes raros lo miraban de forma extraña mientras murmuraban cosas, pero él alxanzó a escuchar que dijeron "no puede irse". Al día siguiente. cuando el paciente ya estuvo listo para marcharse, abordó un taxi, pero al voltear hacia atrás notó que los tres hombres estaban en la azotea del hospital haciendo algunos movimientos raros, parecdos a reverencias,el tipo pensó que tal vez esos hombres estaban celebrando el hecho de que él pudiera irse del hospital, pero cuando el taxista vio lo que sucedía a través del retrovisor, le dijo con un semblante asustado que lo que estaban haciendo esos hombres era un ritual llamado "La reverencia cruel" de modo que él no podría salir vivo de ese pueblo.

Se ve increíble, no lo conocía. Al ser de terror me llamó aún más la atención. Hay animaciones que realmente incomodan al verlas, esas sonrisas de una de las fotos que pusiste es un ejemplo. La tendré en cuenta, es complicado conseguir cosas de este estilo y que sean buenas.
Sí, al fin al cabo los asiaticos son los mejores al hacer terror, asi que este anime es increíble
