End of the wait. True Detective: Night Country. Season 4 / episode 1
Después de tanta espera por fin llegó el día de ver la cuarta temporada de True Detective llamada tierra nocturna, todos los que han leído mis publicaciones saben que me encantan las películas o series con una trama de misterio y asesinatos, ese es mi género favorito y desde que empecé a ver esta serie me cayó como anillo al dedo, mis favoritas son la primera y tercera temporada, pero aunque viendo los trailers de esta cuarta temporada pude ver que tendría diferencias de iluminación, ambientación y hasta de género, pues esta vez nuestras dos investigadoras serían mujeres eso hizo que mis expectativas fueran más altas al ver ese primer capítulo.
No pude esperar siete semanas para escribir un post, y digo siete porque a diferencia de las otras temporadas esta solo tendrá seis capítulos que se estrenarán cada domingo a partir del 13 de enero y que podremos ver a través de HBO.
After so much waiting finally came the day to see the fourth season of True Detective called Night Country, everyone who has read my publications knows that I love movies or series with a plot of mystery and murder, that’s my favorite genre and since I started watching this series I fell like a glove, my favorites are the first and third season, but although seeing the trailers for this fourth season I could see that it would have differences in lighting, setting and even gender, because this time our two investigators would be women that made my expectations were higher to see that first chapter.
I could not wait seven weeks to write a post, and I say seven because unlike the other seasons this one will only have six chapters that will be released every Sunday from January 13 and that we can see through HBO.
Para los que no conozcan esta serie, se trata de una serie antológica original de HBO, donde en cada una de sus temporadas tenemos un nuevo caso de homicidio, dos detectives y diferentes localizaciones. Las tres primeras temporadas cuentan con 8 capítulos cada una y con actores de gran trayectoria como Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson, Rachel McAdams, Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn, Mahershala Ali y Esteban Dorff y en esta cuarta temporada contaremos con la participación de Jodie Foster y Kali Reis.
Lo mejor de todo es que no necesitas ver todas las temporadas para entender esta, así que siéntete libre de empezar de atrás hacia delante.
For those who do not know this series, it is an original HBO anthology series, where in each of its seasons we have a new homicide case, two detectives and different locations. The first three seasons have 8 chapters each and with actors of great trajectory as Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson, Rachel McAdams, Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn, Mahershala Ali and Esteban Dorff and in this fourth season we will have the participation of Jodie Foster and Kali Reis.
Best of all, you don’t need to watch all the seasons to understand this one, so feel free to start backwards and forwards.
En el primer capítulo estrenado este domingo 13 de enero a las 10 pm hora de Venezuela, nos trasladamos a Alaska, y comienza el día 17 de diciembre día en que los habitantes verán el sol por última vez y estarán a oscuras durante todo el invierno, la historia se desarrolla en un pueblo llamado Ennis donde muchos de los habitantes trabajan en una mina que contamina el medio ambiente, pero es la fuente económica de la zona.
Elizabeth Danvers (Jodie Foster) es una detective experimentada y con carácter, tiene una hija adoptiva pero esa parte de la historia aún no se conoce bien pero se ve que esta chica causará controversia, lo que podría sospechar es que Liz tuvo una pérdida importante causada por el abuso del alcohol al conducir y eso la convierte en una mujer con un trauma interno.
Evangeline Navarro (Kali Reis) es una detective de origen indígena, que fue despedida y enviada a patrullar después de que se obsesionara con el atroz asesinato de Annie Kowtok, una mujer indígena que era activista y luchaba contra la mina, ganándose muchos enemigos por esta razón. La detective Navarro de momento es el personaje que más me ha gustado, es fuerte, dura y lucha por los derechos de las mujeres maltratadas pero también tiene una vida privada y problemas familiares que la convierten en una persona real.
Me gustó mucho el dúo de estas dos mujeres, se complementarán aunque no tengan nada en común, una es analítica, la otra impulsiva y ambas son profesionales.
In the first chapter premiered this Sunday January 13 at 10 pm Venezuela time, we move to Alaska, and begins on December 17 day when the inhabitants will see the sun for the last time and will be in darkness throughout the winter, the story takes place in a town called Ennis where many of the inhabitants work in a mine that pollutes the environment, but is the economic source of the area.
Elizabeth Danvers (Jodie Foster) is an experienced detective with character, she has an adopted daughter but that part of the story is not yet well known but you can see that this girl will cause controversy, what I could suspect is that Liz had a major loss caused by alcohol abuse when driving and that makes her a woman with an internal trauma.
Evangeline Navarro (Kali Reis) is a detective of indigenous origin, who was dismissed and sent on patrol after she became obsessed with the atrocious murder of Annie Kowtok, an indigenous woman who was an activist and fought against the mine, earning many enemies for this reason. Detective Navarro for the moment is the character I liked the most, she is strong, tough and fights for the rights of abused women but she also has a private life and family problems that make her a real person.
I really liked the duo of these two women, they will complement each other although they have nothing in common, one is analytical, the other impulsive and both are professionals.
El caso presentado esta temporada es la desaparición de ocho científicos de la estación de investigación de Tsalal, que estudian el cambio climático y la vida en el Ártico. Estos científicos desaparecieron como si hubieran ido al baño y no hubieran vuelto, palabras textuales de Liz. Así las cosas, todo en la estación Tsalal quedó como si hubieran desaparecido con un chasquido dejando como única prueba una lengua que al parecer es de una mujer nativa y que puede relacionar este caso con el asesinato de Annie Kowtok, ocurrido hace seis años, descubriendo además nuevas pistas que relacionan a Annie con Tsalal.
Estos nuevos descubrimientos son los que harán que los agentes Danvers y Navarro vuelvan a trabajar juntos hasta averiguar qué pasó con los ocho científicos y quién asesinó a Annie Kowtok, para cerrar el caso, o al menos eso espero.
The case presented this season is the disappearance of eight scientists from the Tsalal research station, who study climate change and life in the Arctic. These scientists disappeared as if they had gone to the bathroom and didn’t come back, Liz’s exact words. As it happened, everything in the Tsalal station was left as if they had disappeared with a snap leaving only as evidence a language that apparently is of a native woman and that can link this case with the murder of Annie Kowtok, which occurred six years ago, also discovering new clues that link Annie with Tsalal.
These new discoveries are what will make agents Danvers and Navarro work together again until they find out what happened to the eight scientists and who murdered Annie Kowtok, in order to close the case, or at least I hope so.
Los puntos positivos que vi, fueron las actuaciones de todos los actores, desde el aprendiz de la detective Danvers, su padre, un policía que me parece muy metido en la corrupción o eso sospecho. Ya estoy sacando hipótesis solo con el primer capítulo.
La verdad es que las series de la HBO no me han decepcionado. Me ha gustado mucho que en esta ocasión no solo vamos a ver un caso de criminalística sino que también se nota que la parte sobrenatural toma importancia además de las creencias indigentes de los nativos.
Este primer capítulo me dejó con ganas de ver más, sé que me van a llevar por un mundo de confusiones y que voy a terminar sospechando de todos los personajes y hasta de los muertos porque como dije lo sobrenatural estuvo presente. Pero esto solo fue el primer capítulo, esperemos a ver que pasa.
The positive points I saw, were the performances of all the actors, from Detective Danvers’ apprentice, her father, a cop who seems to me to be very involved in corruption or so I suspect. I’m already drawing hypotheses just with the first chapter.
The truth is that the HBO series have not disappointed me. I really liked that this time we are not only going to see a case of criminalistics but it was also noted that the supernatural part took importance in addition to the indigent beliefs of the natives.
This first chapter left me wanting to see more, I know that they are going to take me through a world of confusions and that I will end up suspecting all the characters and even the dead because as I said the supernatural was present. But this was only the first chapter, let’s wait and see what happens.

Bueno, trate de describir lo que se vió en el primer capítulo porque en el tráiler oficial se muestran muchísimas más cosas que veremos en los próximos capítulos.
Estas series son muy buenas, te las recomiendo.

Esta temporada se ve bastante prometedora las anteriores me han gustado excepto la segunda.
