Fallout 2 - my opinion up to chapter 7 [ENG-ESP]

I spent the first four episodes of this second season pushing myself to finish each one. It really annoyed me. They are full of very slow scenes where Lucy, on her journey to find her father, meets all the factions that coexist in the Wasteland, or rather, survive and kill each other in an extremely hostile and violent environment. It’s not bad because I only knew about the inhabitants of the shelters, Vault-Tec, and the Brotherhood of Steel because they were present in the first season, but now I know that there is Caesar’s Legion, the New California Republic, and the Enclave. I should clarify that I’m not into video games, so everything I know about this story is from the series.

In the first four chapters, Luci messes up every step of the way, putting her life at risk, assuming that nothing will happen to her because of her kindness, and it turns out that she is always saved by the one she thinks is the worst of them all, the one who tries to teach her what it’s like to live in this environment that is totally different from where she grew up, surrounded by benefits such as food, family, and security. But as Thaddeus said, anyone who grew up in those conditions would be a good person. We finally saw the cold fusion in the hands of the Brotherhood of Steel, but they have a more selfish purpose for its use, thinking of overcoming the other factions while continuing to live as they have for the last 200 years. That would be a summary of what the first four chapters were about.

Me pasé los primeros cuatro capítulos de esta segunda temporada empujando mis ganas para terminar cada uno de los capítulos, de verdad que me daba mucho fastidio, están llenos de escenas muy lentas donde Lucy en su trayecto en busca de su papá va conociendo a todas las facciones que conviven en el Yermo, mejor dicho que sobreviven y se matan en un ambiente extremadamente hostil y violento. No está mal porque solo sabía de los habitantes de los refugio, Vault-Tec y de la Hermandad de Acero porque tuvieron presencia en la primera temporada, pero ahora conozco que existe la Legión de Cesar, la República de Nueva California y el Enclave. Aclarando que no soy de vídeo juegos así que todo lo que sé de esta historia es por la serie.

En los primeros cuatro capítulos, Luci mete la pata en cada uno de sus pasos exponiendo su vida, suponiendo que con su amabilidad nada va a pasarle y resulta que siempre es salvada por el que ella piensa es el peor de todos, el que trata de enseñarle como es vivir en este ambiente totalmente diferente a donde ella creció llena de beneficios, como comida, familia y seguridad. Pero como dijo Thaddeus, cualquiera que hubiera crecido en esas condiciones sería una buena persona. Por fin vimos la fusión fría en manos de La Hermandad de Acero, pero tienen un propósito más egoísta para su uso, pensando en sobreponerse sobre el resto de facciones sin dejar de vivir como en los últimos 200 años. Eso sería un resumen de lo que trataron los primeros cuatro capítulos.

We reached the fifth chapter and everything started to improve. Luci took a turn in which she accepted that non-violence is not always the solution and that there are situations that require extreme solutions. At first, we see that this change is due to the use of psychotropic substances that make her more daring and even happy, because we see her smiling a lot, even if it was due to the effects. However, in the following chapters, when that effect wears off, Luci continues to see violence as an option, although she remains true to herself, taking into account the good and bad of each situation. We see this after she meets her father (Hank) and finds out what he is doing. For a moment, she agrees with him and finds herself in the paradox of wondering whether Hank is right and the solution for humanity is to mechanize people’s behavior, or whether he is totally wrong. Well, we see the answer at the end of chapter 7.

Llegamos al quinto capítulo y todo fue mejorando, Luci, dió un giro en el que aceptó que no siempre la no violencia es la solución y que hay situaciones que requieren de soluciones extremas, al principio vemos que este cambio es debido al uso de sustancias psicotrópicas que la hacen más osada y hasta feliz, porque la vemos muy sonriente aunque fuera por los efectos, pero en los capítulos siguientes cuando ese efecto se pierde Luci sigue viendo la violencia como una opción, aunque no deja de ser ella, tomando en cuenta lo bueno y lo malo de cada cosa, esto lo vemos luego de que se encuentra con su padre (Hank) y se entera lo que está haciendo, por un momento le da razón y se encuentra en esa paradoja de pensar si Hank está en lo correcto y la solución para la humanidad es mecanizar el comportamiento de las personas o está totalmente equivocado, bueno, la respuesta la vemos al final del capítulo 7.

I still think the best part of the series is the flashbacks from before the war. We already know that Cooper (Ghoul) is totally involved in all the events, what we are learning is the extent to which he was wrong, because if he failed to save the world, it’s because he made a mistake somewhere, perhaps in who he trusted to deliver the cold fusion. I don’t know, that’s what I’m thinking now that I’ve just finished episode 7. Now we’re not only seeing Cooper’s flashbacks but also Stephanie’s. We don’t know how important this character is, but she did something to enable a foreign woman and waitress to enter Vault-Tec and the shelters. Let’s wait for the last chapter, because this story is coming to an end and there are still many answers to be found. Who are the real villains in this story?

Sigo pensando que lo mejor de la serie son los flashbacks de antes de la guerra, ya sabemos que Cooper (Ghoul) está totalmente involucrado en todos los hechos, lo que estamos conociendo es hasta que punto se equivocó, porque si no le dió resultado salvar el mundo es porque en algo se equivocó, será en quien confió para entregarle la fusión fría, no se, eso lo estoy pensando ahora que acabo de terminar el capítulo 7. Ahora no solo vemos los flashbacks de Cooper sino también los de Stephanie, qué tan importante es este personaje, no sabemos, pero algo hizo para que una mujer de nacionalidad extranjera y camarera pudiera entrar Vault-Tec y a los refugios. Esperemos el ultimo capítulo, porque está historia está llegando a su final y todavía hay muchas respuestas por conocer. ¿Quiénes son los verdaderos villanos es esta historia?
