Fountain of Youth - An entertaining adventure // review and opinion [ENG-ESP]

I haven't seen an action/adventure movie that I liked since Uncharted: Off the Map, which even though I didn't know about the video game, I really enjoyed that movie as it had all the elements to keep me entertained. Now, I have the same opinion of this movie that I started watching because of the cast, which could go wrong having Natalie Portman, John Krasinski, Domhnall Gleeson and Eiza Gonzalez, although with this last one I have a little problem but it's because of her way of being and not because of her work as an actress.

No veía una película de acción y aventura que me gustará desde Uncharted: Fuera del mapa, que aunque no conocía del video juego, disfruté mucho de esa película pues tenía todos los elementos para mantenerme entretenida. Ahora, tengo la misma opinión de esta película que empecé a ver por el elenco, que podría salir mal teniendo a Natalie Portman, John Krasinski, Domhnall Gleeson y Eiza González, aunque con esta última tengo un pequeño problema pero es por su manera de ser y no por su trabajo como actriz.

This adventure film has an Indiana Jones style, as we talk about a pair of brothers, sons of a famous archaeologist who reunite with the team that their father worked with to go in search of the Fountain of Eternal Youth, in order to help Owen (Gleeson), a millionaire tycoon who wants to find a cure for his disease, but also in search of recognition for the Purdue name.

Luke Purdue (Krasinski) convinces his sister Charlotte (Portman) with extreme measures to join in this new adventure where they will travel the world, put together puzzles and put in evidence everything they learned from their father, which apparently is an inheritance that all members of this family carry in their veins. But they will not have it easy, as they will have a group of protectors, led by Eiza Gonzalez, who will do everything possible to prevent them from finding the source, because there are things that humans are not ready for and perhaps never will be.

Está película de aventura tiene un estilo a Indiana Jones, pues hablamos de un par de hermanos, hijos de un famoso arqueólogo que se reúnen con el equipo que trabajó con su padre para ir en busca de la Fuente de la Eterna Juventud, con la finalidad de ayudar a Owen (Gleeson), un magnate millonario que desea encontrar una cura para su enfermedad, pero también en busca de reconocimiento para el apellido Purdue.

Luke Purdue (Krasinski) convence con medidas extremas a su hermana Charlotte (Portman) a unirse en esta nueva aventura donde viajarán por el mundo, armarán rompecabezas y pondrán en evidencia todo lo que aprendieron de su padre, que al parecer es una herencia que llevan en las venas todos los integrantes de esta familia. Pero ellos no lo tendrán fácil, ya que contarán con un grupo de protectores, encabezados por Eiza González, que harán lo imposible para lograr que no encuentren la fuente, pues hay cosas para lo que los humanos no están listos y tal vez nunca lo estén.

I thought the casting and performances were excellent, and I would expect nothing less. John Krasinski, in an impulsive, adventurous, charismatic and even sarcastic character, hungry for fame and recognition; Natalie Portman, an intelligent woman who is able to see what her brother does not and who changed her life for motherhood and now her son has inherited her talent; Domhnall Gleeson, as any eccentric billionaire who provides the resources for the research that he himself promoted and Eiza Gonzalez, looks very cute with that air of mystery that suits her very well; it also has a small appearance of Stanley Tucci who brings a little more context to the work and purpose of the protectors.

An adventure movie that is very entertaining, that has all the aspects you look for in this kind of adventure stories, where there are trips around the world in search of clues to find the location of the source, action scenes through cities, waters and deserts, with choreographed fights in my opinion well executed, chases on foot and in cars through big cities. It may have some scenes that may seem like you've seen them in other productions but they really work. Just in this publication I have already mentioned two stories that can give you an idea of what you will find here. It is a movie to enjoy and discover if you manage to put the puzzle together to reach the end of the road. What will be the end of this story, you have to see it.

El casting y las actuaciones me parecieron excelente y es que no se puede esperar menos. John Krasinski, en un personaje impulsivo, aventurero, carismático y hasta sarcástico, con hambre de fama y reconocimiento; Natalie Portman, una mujer inteligente que es capaz de ver lo que su hermano no y que cambió su vida por la maternidad y ahora su hijo ha heredado su talento; Domhnall Gleeson, como cualquier multimillonario excéntrico que aporta los recurso para la investigación que él mismo impulsó y Eiza González, se ve muy linda con ese aire de misterio que le queda muy bien; también tiene una pequeña aparición de Stanley Tucci que aporta un poco más de contexto al trabajo y propósito de los protectores.

Una película de aventura que es muy entretenida, que tiene todos los aspectos que buscas en este tipo de historias de aventuras, donde hay viajes por el mundo en buscas de pistas para encontrar la ubicación de la fuente, escenas de acción por ciudades, aguas y desiertos, con coreografía de peleas a mi parecer bien ejecutadas, persecuciones a pie y en autos por grandes ciudades. Puede que tenga algunas escenas que te pueden llegar a parecer que las hayas visto en otra producciones pero es que realmente funcionan. Nada más en esta publicación ya nombré dos historias que te pueden dar una idea de lo que te vas a encontrar aquí. Es una película para disfrutar y descubrir si logran armar todo el rompecabezas para llegar al final del camino. Cuál será el final de esta historia, tienes que verla.
