Me gusta escribir sobre aquellas películas que me gustaron o al menos causaron una sensación agradable en mí, en oportunidades me gusta ver la misma película dos veces para identificar ese sensación y saber si me gustó o no. Bueno, con esta película me pasó, tuve que verla dos veces para poder darle un sentido a la historia y no es que la primera vez no me haya gustado, porque a diferencia de otras a las que descarto inmediatamente, está película me cautivó desde el principio, pero al tratar varios temas no identificaba el que para mí era el más resaltante.

La Chica Salvaje es una adaptación de una novela que lleva su mismo nombre, no he leído ese libro, así que no sabia nada de la historia antes de ver la película. Creo que me pasó igual que con la serie The Last of Us de la que tampoco sabía nada antes de ver el primer capítulo, porque no soy buena con los videojuego así que no lo he jugado.

La Chica Salvaje que en inglés el nombre original de la película es Donde cantan los cangrejos (Where The crawdads sing), trata sobre la vida de Kya Clart, una chica que se crió sola en las marismas de Carolina del Norte.

La película comienza con el descubrimiento de un cadáver y en la búsqueda de un culpable que al parecer es Kya, hasta aquí no sabes nada, ni porque, ni donde. El caso es que está Chica es llevada a la cárcel, su abogado le pide que quiere conocerla más, ya que a pesar de ser casi vecinos nadie en el pueblo la conoce, además la va a defender y necesita argumentos para hacerlo. A partir de ese momento y durante todo el juicio es que a través de Flashback nos vamos conociendo poco a poco quien es ella y porque está en la posición donde está.

Kya, nos cuenta como formó parte de una familia disfuncional dónde todos los integrantes de su familia eran maltratados físicamente por el padre y con el paso del tiempo todos fueron abandonando la marisma, empezando por la madre y así todos los hermanos a medida que iban creciendo, quedado por último ella quien era la menor y antes de crecer ya su padre la había abandonado, estaba sola pero tenía el ímpetu para sobrevivir y superarse. Durante su crecimiento son pocas las personas que la apoyan y se preocupan por ella, aunque sea a distancia, pero son las personas que van a importar realmente a lo largo de toda su vida.

Aunque lo primero que vemos en la película es el descubrimiento de un cadáver y pensamos que la historia va a ser un drama policial y de misterio para encontrar al asesino, eso no es así, la mayor parte del tiempo vamos a conocer a Kya, su vida, sus amigos, alegría y decepciones amorosas. Durante la primera hora me preguntaba, ¿Quien es el muerto? Y no es sino hasta la mitad de la película que conocemos a Chase.

Para mí está es una historia de amor. Porque está niña que crio sola, necesitada de afecto, sin pertenecer a un grupo, solo a la marisma, aprendió de la naturaleza el amor propio, a sobrevivir, a defenderse por si sola y a valorar las buenas acciones de las personas que la rodeaban, no es que porque estaba necesitada de afecto iba aceptado lo que se le ofrecía, no, ella sabía que es lo que merecía e iba en su búsqueda.

La protagonista tiene una imagen pasiva, de no matar ni una mosca, es como un conejito asustado, suave e inofensivo, En ningún momento vamos a creer que ella pueda asesinar a una persona y menos cuando tiene una coartada que habla por ella sin necesidad que diga ni una sola palabra durante el juicio. El final también me pareció que es amor, es como un cuento de hada de los que termina en “vivieron felices para siempre” así tal cual, para mí estuvo perfecto y si prestas atención a los detalles entonces también traerá consigo una explicación extra que te dejará satisfecho o al menos para mí fue así.

¿Qué si recomiendo esta película? Por supuesto que sí, si te gustan las novelas de amor y desamor, está te va a gustar. Es una película con unos hermosos paisajes en la cual la mayoría de las escenas son en exteriores muy bellos, además creo que todos podemos aprender algo de la naturaleza a través de esta película.

The Wild Girl is an adaptation of a novel of the same name, I haven't read that book, so I didn't know anything about the story before seeing the movie. I think it happened to me the same as with The Last of Us series of which I also didn't know anything before seeing the first chapter, because I'm not good with video games so I haven't played it.

The film begins with the discovery of a corpse and the search for a culprit who apparently is Kya, until here you do not know anything, nor why, nor where. During her growth there are few people who support and care for her, even if it is from a distance, but they are the people who will really matter throughout her life.

Although the first thing we see in the movie is the discovery of a dead body and we think that the story is going to be a police drama and mystery to find the murderer, that is not the case, most of the time we are going to get to know Kya, her life, her friends, joy and love disappointments. For the first hour I was wondering, who is the dead guy? And it's not until the middle of the movie that we meet Chase.

For me this is a love story. Because this girl who grew up alone, in need of affection, without belonging to a group, only to the marsh, learned from nature to love herself, to survive, to defend herself and to value the good deeds of the people around her, not because she was in need of affection she accepted what was offered to her, no, she knew what she deserved and went in search of it.

The protagonist has a passive image, of not killing even a fly, she is like a scared bunny, soft and inoffensive. At no time are we going to believe that she could murder a person and even less when she has an alibi that speaks for her without her saying a single word during the trial. The ending also seemed to me to be love, it's like a fairy tale that ends in "they lived happily ever after" just like that, for me it was perfect and if you pay attention to the details then it will also bring with it an extra explanation that will leave you satisfied or at least for me it was like that.

Do I recommend this movie? Of course I do, if you like love and heartbreak novels, you will like this one. It is a movie with beautiful scenery in which most of the scenes are in very beautiful outdoor scenery, plus I think we can all learn something about nature through this movie.
